I'm a SoCal local w/ an AP and we visit DL all the time! :goodvibes My niece is turning 2 in September and a big group of us will be heading to DL for a b-day celebration. Since most of us have our own families and little kids we will probably be roaming on our own for most of the day but we want to meet up for a b-day celebration. After looking on line at the price of DL's b-day celebrations we figure that we'd all go broke doing Disney's celebration ($15.99 per person) and would like to bring cupcakes for our group of 15 instead. So my questions are:

1) I know we've been able to get basic foods in (snacks for the kids) but would they let us bring in a cake/cupcakes

2) If not isnt there a picnic area right outside the main gate where we could all meet up?

3) Anyone know of other b-day celebrations that we could do for the little princess of the family? (she's the only girl of 5 grandkids!)

There is indeed a picnic area (stark, with cement tables) way to the left of the Disneyland entrance. It's behind tall trees, very hidden, but it's back there.

I don't know if they would let you take in that many cupcakes, but all they can say is to take it to the picnic area, so it's worth a try as long as you're willing to eat them at that time (or put them into a locker).

For a 2 year old, just being at Disneyland is a celebration! Actually, IMO, just being there is a celebration for any age. Be sure to get her a birthday button from City Hall, and she'll get wished happy birthday all day long. :)
