Hello everyone,

My cousin is in the process of getting a divorce, she has two DVC contracts and my husband and I would like to purchase one of them.

Does anyone know how to go about purchasing this? Do we need to go through attorneys?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

do you don't need an attorney?

it has go through DVC ROFR - so make sure you are paying a fair price or DVC will take it back.

No, Disney has right-of-refusal for all contracts and the deed cannot be recorded in a new name unless Disney has had the opportunity to review the contract offer. In addition, unless they have allowed the contract to pass ROFR, it may be very difficult to get the new memebrship entered into the DVC system- thus making it very difficult to make a reservation.

Your cousin should contact Member Services to get details regarding her responsibilties in reselling the contract.

Good luck! :)

And it's illegal to put one price and pay another IN ANY WAY. But ROFR isn't that aggravating and it's not difficult to close yourself without an attorney or closing company.
