Ever Been Accused of Scamming When You Didn't?

A little bit ago I was in a trade room when someone came up and said I scam them. I got a little freaked and asked when did I scam? They then replied with, " when you were in my free room ". I never go in free rooms anyways, so I just left the room.

Should I be nervous? They said they reported.

You did not do anything wrong so you should not be worried, but you can always send a message through "contact us" to let them know somebody accussed you of scamming. My bigger concern would be if somebody else is using a name close to yours and causing trouble! Let VMK staff know this.

bytheblood makes a good point, and better to be safe than sorry.

Now, I have been sitting with friends on more than one occasion and had someone walk in and accuse them or someone else in the room of stuff like this. Things that all of us in the room knew were not true, as we had been sitting together for quite some time and the accuser would say "just a few minutes ago, in my room, that's why I came looking for you." I think some people just enjoy making others nervous, worried, etc. bullying, if you will. Once I was working on one of my rooms, I had just bought the room and was setting it up. I forgot to switch it over to "myself only" and this girl walks in, says "you copied me!! I am reporting!!!" and disappeared instantly. My room was not even close to being finished, I had never seen her OR her room before, and the words came out of her mouth before she had enough time to even LOOK at my room. Some people just can't have "fun" unless they are bothering others.

Anyway, again, better to be safe than sorry, I guess my point is just try not to let it take away your enjoyment of VMK.

There is also a chance they got the title wrong since many are the same. I was accused once but the gals in my room pointed out that they had the title wrong and they wanted this person.

The Staff always check your history to see if you scammed or not. that person might of didn't report. Probably just wanted to scare you no offense

Not so long ago Sweet and I were accused of scamming one of our best friends on vmk. Her account had been hacked somehow and sweet and I followed this person to various trade rooms. Long story shirt we did everything to help our friend by calling vmk, talking to Host Phinny etc.

The sad part 3 of our other close friends actually believed this and treated Sweet horribly, in fact 2 fellow dis ppl. Not one of these ppl believed us and sided with us.

The friend whose account was stolen came to us and apologized when she realized it was a lie....but our other friends, sadly did not. So its times like that you see who your true friends are.

Yeah i agree. I have gotten accused by numerous of people, one saying " You know that bird hat is mine you just came onto my account. IM reporting you dumbo. " That person was not the richest person on the VMK sidewalk if you know what i mean.. Most " Poor " folk on VMK just do this so you can give them free Hey and i know a girl called Sweet she is my friend in VMK XD

Ouch. Not so sure it's a good idea to group "poor folk on vmk" together into such a negative light. I think in general, most are good peeps, at least in my experience.

To me, the only reason people announce, whether in their signature or in chat, that they are poor, they just are trying to get attention and free stuff. I am so sorry about what happened Skippy, but I am glad that you stood with your friend.

Once I was running my game room and this girl came in and stood there. I figured she was afk and carried on. We were doing nothing wrong, the game was kid appropriate and nobody was being mean or anything. She suddenly blurted out "I am reporting this room!!" and left. Everyone in the room was like, "what?". What a weirdo.

The last time I had my game open a couple of people who apparently don't know how to count whined and said they didn't get their prize (I was giving out credits via kiosk). "It said I got the credits, but I really didn't! I'm reporting you!"

Next time I'm giving out objects instead.

Sorry to say but that won't stop them - I have people all the time threatening to report saying they didn't get their prize from the kiosk. I just ignore them or boot them if they continue.

What I was going to say was that I was accused of being a self-centered jerk.
