Ever accidentally click on a DISer's name and end up at their Profile?

But there have been 33 viewings . I don't know how that adds up, unless it counts you as a viewer every time you view your own profile, but just doesn't list you as one of the viewers.

You can still see a profile if you are not logged in. So if you are not logged in, I guess it records a view, but does not show a username.

I just tried it on your profile and that was what happened. It did not show I visited, but the first time I did it the count was 124 and I did it a second time and the count was 125.

Ack, and then I logged back in, it took me back to your profile, showed me as a visitor and increased the count by 1.

Me three! I have been known to miss the thread title and get the username instead. Then I wonder what the person will think when they see I viewed their profile. Will they wonder what I was looking for? In reality I got there by a accidental click of the mouse.

Yeah, I am an "accidental stalker," too! Once, I clicked on someone's avatar to see if I could see it as a larger pic-no, I just stalked them!

I had no idea you could see who had been looking at your profile. I never even look at it. Mine showed the names of the last 6 people who had viewed it. Learn something new everyday!

I have accidentally visited people's profiles. I don't think people who have visited my profile are stalking me. I've always assumed it was on accident cause I'm not that interesting.

That makes sense. I'll have to remember that trick of logging out if I ever really do want to stalk someone

Look now. Apparantly, if no one logged in has looked at your profile, the list doesn't show up at all. But now you have had a visitor: moi!

I think I'm going to start clicking on everyone's profile to make them paranoid . "Why is KristaTX looking at me ??".

I'm not sure what the friends list is for. It's apparently different from the buddy/contacts list, because mine are not the same.

Does anyone know what the purpose of the "friends" list is other than to make you feel good because you have friends ?

I don't see it as stalking when you look at someone's profile.

Sometimes when I read a post that someone has written, I'm just curious as to "who" wrote this post. Course some profiles don't really have much information on them.

I think all of us are joking around when we talk about "stalking" in regards to looking at profiles . Although real stalking is not unheard of on the DIS.

I wouldn't think anyone was stalking me. If they were, I wouldn't care, lol.

I have done that more than once, and since one of the recent upgrades you can now see who has been looking at whose profiles . I have done it accidentally as I'm just browsing around and tap the mouse, and also when I have tried to get a closer look at interesting avatars . And I've looked at a few on purpose . I always think, "oops", after I end up at a profile because I'm just sure they'll think I'm a stalker . I bet most people never go to their own profile, though.

I clicked on someone's profile accidentally not too long ago, saw that it showed that I had "visited" and didn't know what to do! lol! I started thinking - maybe I should pm the person and let them know that I wasn't "stalking" but visited by mistake. Then I thought - now this person will think that I am a nutcase (which I am but not for stalking ) for trying to explain something that is not a big deal... so I just forgot about it until now. Oh well...I now see that I have had 27 visitors (but only one shows their username). Not too sure I like this feature. I have very little info in my profile because I always forget that it exists.

Yep - quite a few times.. I've been having all sorts of problems since so many things changed with the new server.. Half the time I can't figure out how to get into my own PM's - and I can't figure out this "friend request" thing for the life of me..

OK...I have no "friend" requests...

Why on earth would you consider checking out a profile to be stalking?
