I've already asked for little known things to do, now I'm looking to you experts for suggestion for evening entertainment. :teeth: We usually come in from the parks late afternoon & dress for dinner. After that, we don't normally return to the parks. However, we'll plan one evening to see the nighttime show at US. IOA doesn't have one, right? Other than that, we're up for suggestions. Our last 2 trips, we took along an older cousin for our DS(14) to hang out with. This time it will just be the 3 of us, so we're looking for family things to do. Our whole family loves comedy, but the only comedic offering seems to be for 18 & older. Also, we're hoping Hard Rock Live will have a concert during our stay. A couple things.... We don't want to leave UO property, & I'm looking for things other than a movie. FYI, we'll be there Sun. - Thurs. nights.

So, what do those of you with younger teens do in the evenings as a family? party:

:thanks:

First you may want to spend an evening till closing at each of the parks. There is nothing like riding in the dark and the whole park atmosphere comes alive at night. Its like a different park at night and the rides are too. Do Popeyes Bilge rat barges last, get soaked and head to CW to run through the water that pops up from the floor with lights. Next you can head back to the hotel for a night swim before heading to bed that night.

Or a late night dinner at latin Quarter is great fun and the food is good. Margaritaville has outdoor entertainment in the evening usually. Walk around the shops. The hotels have game rooms you can play at for a while. HRH has Velvet Nights on the last Thursday of every month.

Stroll the vast grounds at Portofino and then have a seat on the Piazza with a drink or a coffee and a pastry. Walk around and pose on the Vespas and take pictures.

Explore the different floors of HRH looking for as many different memorabilia.

We usually take a break midday and relax by the pool after lunch. After that we head back to the park till closing (or right around there) and then its off to a late dinner. From there we walk around CW and by then its late and time to sleep! However many nights theres that plea for "just one more swim"!

Plenty to do and plenty of ways to do it all. My favorite is that its not all go,go,go and we dont come home from vacation feeling like we need one. :flower1:

Great info., as usual. :teeth: Thanks to your suggestions, I've decided to have dinner in US for the 1st time, then watch the show. Our DS loves Mythos, so we'll have dinner there also. That's an evening in each park! :)

We like Latin Qtr. too. We think it's the 2nd best CW restaurant, coming in just behind Emeril's.

I had read about Velvet Nights. Our DS would love the live music. I think it's only for adults though. Do you know, if teens are allowed until a certain time?

We stayed at PBH once, & loved ending the evening on the Piazza. :cloud9:

21 and over the whole time, sorry. They bill it as a "rock and roll cocktail party" and alcohol flows freely.

Keep in mind there is also live rock/pop music inside Margaritaville starting around 9 or 10 pm every night.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. :) It doesn't really sound like DH & I would enjoy it very much either. We prefer having a drink in a more relaxed setting. I know, we're getting old. :sad2:

We'll be sure to stop by Margaritaville & LQ to see what's going on. We don't really like the food at the CW Margaritaville, but we could get a drink or dessert I suppose.

You visit the pools at night. You also do this in the after between 1-4pm to cool off and get away from the afternoon crowds. Kids are like fish, they love to swim.
Parents kick back in lounge chairs, with servers bringing drinks, music jamming. Kids play in the pool and have a blast. That's the family moment if there ever was one.
