Evening at Boardwalk with kids? Yes or No

We are planning our 4th trip in as many years, and trying to shake things up and do new things we haven't done before, and also keep it inexpensive. We have never been to the Boardwalk at night. Would it be entertaining for children? 3 boys, ages 5, 7, 9. I figured we could do the surrey bike rental and it says there are performers that stroll the Boardwalk but I don't know how many. Is it just one or two random performers here or there?

We went to the Boardwalk for the 1st time in Sept. We ate at Kouzzina (spelling?) Our kids loved the Boardwalk. My DD9 helped the magician twice & they both enjoyed another street performer (although I can't even remember who/what they were.) We went into the candy shop & just walked up & down for a bit. It wasn't too busy, but we thought it was a neat little area.

When we first arrived for our dinner (around 6pm) we had to park & walk across the bridge. There was a girl there who was looking down below the bridge. She pointed out the cutest little alligator down there, just floating around. I'm sure it's a wee-bit bigger this year!

My kids were bored. When we were there we didn't see any street performers and there was very little else to look at. We spent about 30 minutes and headed out. It isn't anything like an East coast boardwalk if you are thinking that at all. I wouldn't plan a special trip there.

Beach Club, which is walking distance just on the other side of the lake, has a beach bonfire sing-a-long with marshmellow toasting and they show movies on the beach at night.

Hubby and I are doing Kouzzina alone one night for dinner. I have heard great things about it! We go with my brother and his wife, so one night hubby and I watch their son while they go out, and one night they watch our 2 boys while we go out. So on our alone night we will hit Kouzzina.

I had no idea about the bonfire and movies at Beach Club, I will DEFINITELY look into that, thanks!!

There are a couple of carnival type games. Lob-a-lobsta and a basketball game. The street performers are not out that much.. We do like to walk around the lake area..but we stay at the beach club.. Its a nice place to check out..but maybe only a hour or so

Our kids loved it, but that was 8 years ago. Some of our fondest memories of that trip are of my daughter assisting the magician, and my son preforming with the musician. Very fun and funny. They are terribly embarrassed about it now, but we still love the pictures. It's fun for a hour or so, but it made us miss the real board walk Ocean City NJ. What's board walk without Mack and Manco's pizza?

My kids were 3,4 and 8 on our last trip and they all loved the boardwalk. they loved the carnival games, the magician, the was a guy playing music. We though it was great.

I tmust be hit or miss. We we strolled around a couple years ago after eating at Spoodles one night and nothing was happening. We were kind of puzzled.

My kids enjoy the boardwalk, however we stay at BWV alot. So its no big trip to take a stroll on the boards. The entertainers are there usually after 6:00. However it does depend on the time of year and how the economy of Disney is doing. Several years ago I remember they only had entertainers out there on the weekends in the evening.

I think it would be fun if you had dinner reservations somewhere there and then took a stroll around to see the entertainers.

FYI, the surrey bike path at Boardwalk is SOOOOO hard to do since there are small hills in several places around the pathway. We did a six person on with two kids in the basket and we were huffing and puffing away!!! We've never done it there again!!!! Other resorts have them now too and they have much more flat terrain that makes the ride more enjoyable.

In true Disney fashion, the carnival games are expensive. And in true carnival game fashion, they are hard to win! DS spent several dollars on the games, then we made him walk away. The performers are fun, but when we were there last August I think there was only 1 guy performing, a few merchandise carts, and the games. We had dinner at Flying Fish so we were already in that area.
