My Husband and I are traveling with our 3yr old and my mother in Feb. We get a "date night" during the trip and planned on going to Galaxy's Edge. We planned on arriving to HS around 6pm. We have a reservation for the Cantina at 7:50pm. We planned on doing the family visit to HS that morning and joining a boarding group as we are leaving in the afternoon, hoping that gives us time( plus the 2hr return window) to get family settle back at the hotel and head back to the park. Does anyone have experience or tips for getting a boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance or riding the ride that late in the day (around 6pm). The park closes at 8. Any tips would be helpful. Thanks.

No way are boarding groups going to be available late in the day like that. Regular boarding groups are gone in the first hour of the park being open and back up boarding groups last a few hours after that. Today was the longest boarding groups have lasted, but the park is also open significantly later. You are going to have to get one in the morning and hope for the best. Getting there close to park opening or a little after should get you what you want.

There's no way to tell what the crowds will be like by the time February comes around. If they are still using boarding groups, you won't get a boarding group in the afternoon. If the process remains the same as it is now, and crowds wanting to get on the ride are roughly the same, you have to be in the park at opening to get a boarding group. All boarding groups have been filling within an hour of park opening.

Your best bet is to watch the ROTR boarding group thread as people continue to report their experiences over the next month. See where things are a week or two before your trip (are they still doing boarding groups? How quickly are people reporting that they get filled up?) and make your plans from there. But I definitely wouldn't expect to get a boarding group in the afternoon.

Oh wow! Thank you! I would of had one very sad Star Wars Fanatic. I will keep a watch. :)

If u are looking to try and get a boarding group late afternoon, then ur going to need to follow the ROR boarding group thread to keep track of the crowds and boarding group times. At the moment, with a 7am park opening, u would want to be in the park and then join a boarding group rite around 7:30am, this would put u somewhere in the 90's maybe low 100's range which would be a 3-6pm range depending on ride break downs. It by no means a perfect science but if u read and follow the " Boarding Groups " thread, u can get pretty close to what u what. Everyone in there contributes and some keep track of the times, some post charts and everyone post their personal experiences, u can use all that info to pin point the exact time u should join to get a 5-7pm boarding group. But keep in mind, what is working now will change in February so be sure to stay on top of any changes. Good luck.
