The cover story for this months Good Sam Highways Magazine is "Camping With Mickey". I was really excited hoping to see a good writeup about the Fort, but out of a 3 page article, there was one short paragraph about Fort Wilderness :-( (Actually, I just reread it, it's 1/2 a paragraph, the other half mentions the transportation system, but makes it Disney resort generic.)

Now I realize that Fort Wilderness is not a Good Sam Park, but you would think an article called Camping With Mickey would talk more about the best campground in the area!!!

I thought the same thing when I read the article. I told my husband that they shouldn't even have referred to it as Camping with Mickey, the majority of the article never even mentioned camping! :(

What do you expect from GOOD SAM'S.

They are to busy trying to get you to send them money for all kinds of their stuff, Car Insurance, towing insurance, trip insurance, service contracts, campground guides and all kind of other stuff you don't want or need. If they spent 1/2 of the money wasted on paper mailers they would have the money to do a good trip report. Not a trip report from somewhere they didn't even go and check out.

And todays mail: refinance your RV with Good Sams

I didn't see the article, but about the title -- mags put coverlines on that will grab your attention, and it's amazing how very different they'll be from the actual article. Probably the writer was assigned a story on...what? Camping in Orlando? (Whatever it was actually about.) And a completely different person designing the cover came up with that inaccurate gem. So frustrating! (For the reader and the writer...trust me on that!) But hey...keeps the Fort "our little secret," right? ;)

I switched to AAA because I got so tired of all the crap from GoodSams. I particularly liked the 500 flyers for extended service protection that my older moho was not eligible for. I even called and asked that they curtail those mailings. No avail. Stupidity!

I also read the article on the Fort in the Good Sams mag and was extremely disappointed in the content. It looked like a filler piece crammed in at the last minute.

As for Goods Sams its a pia with all the emails, I have had success in opting out of most of them

Good Sam's has become another business that could care less about customer service & goodwill. They just want to stuff as much $$$ as possible in the pockets of upper management - which will cause the demise of yet another company.

What the heck did they teach in business schools in the 80's & 90's?? Greed 101?

i opted out by quitting them also. I was so tired of the mailings and i kept getting bills for something i already paid. I would call and she would say disregard it but another month later, another bill. i gave up but i DO miss that highways magazine. I enjoyed reading it.

Is there anything else out there that is comparable to Good Sam? I am also tired of the extra mailings and they will not listen. They asked me why aren't you interested in our towing and I told them plain and simple allstate lets me charge 9 dollar something a month to my credit card which is very economical. Good Sam wants it all up front and that answered her question real quickly. So if any suggestions out there I would appreciate it. Thanks.
