You know what I think about all this "boys with Princess hats" thing?
Personally, I would not wear one. I don't care what kind of jokes the guys are making about it, it just doesn't seem right.
If I were running the VMK market, I would make clothing available to both genders, male and female. Just that I would include a dialog box with certain clothing items that "this is for boys only" or "this is for girls only". Reason being is so you would be able to trade items from boy to girl or vice versa without conflict. In fact, this dealie could be great for the boys to give their lady friends gifts.
