Just a quick  for everybody.

When my dad has to transfer from his ECV to a Disney wheelchair, do you think he'll be able to fit? He's a big man ~ 335lbs. Will the wheelchair be wide/comfy enough for him to get into? Trying to figure out which rides we'll just have him skip instead of potentially embarrassing him if he can't fit in it. Thanks!

If you go on the Deb Wills website, she has a special section for "pooh sized" guests which explains which rides accomodate which sizes. It is very nicely done. Then you will know the info ahead of time. Have a great time! :cool1:

For some rides, it might depend on if he can stand and walk short distances. For example, I think Buzz Lightyear and Winnie the Pooh both state you have to transfer from an ECV to a manual chair. Both those rides do in fact have special cars that can accommodate manual wheelchairs. However, many ECV users would prefer to just transfer from the ECV into a normal ride car. So it might depend on if that would work for him. Some rides can't have an ECV in the queue (some MK attractions are like that) but many rides you can keep your ECV all the way to the front of the line until you board.

If he can get into a regular ride car (and Deb's site has some great info), then there are just a few rides with a queue that a wheelchair cannot handle. POTC Is one of them. These rides usually have more than one wheelchair waiting, so they should have a larger one there. If they do not have one that fits him, ask a CM to get one from another ride - they may or may not do this, but it is always worth asking!

We just returned from WDW yesterday. I used my ECV and transferred to Disney's wheelchairs when needed.

Each ride has assorted sizes of wheelchairs, large to small, so there is no need to worry about transferring. The CMs just seem to bring the correct size one to you.

Enjoy your trip! :goodvibes
