We are taking my Grandfather in Jan for a week. He has his own ECV that we would like to take on the plane. I still need to contact Southwest to be sure it is allowed. If we can get it on the plane, we then need to get it to the Dolphin. Has anyone used a towncar company that had a lift for a cart? I know they exist since my father has one in his van to take the cart when Papa goes out. Thanks much for the help! :)

I'm not sure about the towncar companies, but I know that Mears has vans with lifts. They charge the same fare as a taxicab so it makes no difference of how many people are travelling. I don't know if they will make a grocery stop as some of the towncars do; if they do, the meter will probably be running on "waiting time".

As far as use in a towncar (or regular taxi), a lot depends on the size of the parts if broken down, the amount of luggage coming along, as well as the trunk space.

Thanks Cheshire. I called a towncar company (I don't know if I can post the name) that we have used before. I talked to a driver who has so nicely said he will help lift the scooter into the van. He was really sweet and we booked with them. I like having a grocery stop. I like decaf soda! I will be sure to post about how it works out when we return in Feb. The other times we used this company they were great and I am sure they will so whatever they can to help us get to the hotel. :sunny:
