We were there for EMH Saturday and went straight to SM. While loading, noticed car ahead of us had people waving arms and shouting though we couldn’t hear what they were saying. We got up to stop where you look at the ride operator through the glass and then the CM pulled out ride vehicle to the left instead of the right, where the ride normally goes. They literally dragged the full ride vehicle!

They told us someone on the car in front of us didn’t want to ride after loading so they shut the entire ride down, evacuated them from inside the ride (I’m not sure how the ride operator even knew what they were indicating...I thought they were waving to friends in our ride vehicle or something). They had us sit a few minutes in our vehicle backstage, then got us out with a step ladder. For the five minutes we sat there, Guests in the other car behind us were melting down about how their EMH was ruined and they needed extra FPs because of it. They told us it would be a 5 minute ride reset, we would get out of backstage and go straight to front of the of line to ride once it was reset, but these folks still were very upset. We did ride it after 5 minutes, and I dare say our EMH was still good! Not sure if those people took it up with GS but I hope not. The adults were the ones complaining and that encouraged their kids to complain too. I was a little embarrassed because it seems everyone wants a FP if any thing at all happens. JMhO.

It was pretty cool to see backstage however! We had a great EMH and a great trip!.

We got to see the Nemo ride back everything up and let a sub reverse course to let a terrified woman off.

I'm so glad that hasn't been me yet. To let my husband experience the ride on our last trip we went 10 minutes before close and I asked to be the last to board. They were great and checked on me throughout the loading process to be sure I was okay right up until they closed the hatch. They opened the hatch again ASAP at the end of the ride and check on me again making sure that we were able to disembark as soon as safely possible. This will not be an every trip ride for me but done like that I can handle it when someone wants to experience it fully.

I have severe claustrophobia and could never in a million years get in the submarine. I feel for that poor lady...

There is an alternate viewing room for Nemo. Just ask any CM before you enter the line. You will be directed to a separate room, off to the right side, away from the loading area. There is a bench seat, and you listen to the soundtrack while watching the "sub window" on a screen in front of you.

Was this a full grown adult that decided after they were on the ride they didn't want to ride it or a kid? We had the ride stop but of course you have no idea why when you are near the end of it and were allowed to ride it again, it's neat seeing everything with the lights on though - this was our second time riding it already that day as it was early and we walked on both times - three times in a row was a bit much I have to say.

I hope they took it up with guest services just so they could experience what really wasting your park time feels like. Some people, sheesh! Glad you didn’t let it ruin your EMH!

You guys are the best! Yes it was an ADULT! The entire vehicle was adults, and they all seemed to be there together. They were boarded, lap restraints checked, and going past the ride operator to the right hand turn that starts the ride, when all the chaos began. It was a little crazy, as I just figured once the ride starts, you have to ride it, regardless. But I guess they got a signal to the ride operator in time and got off on the initial ascent of the ride.

You must have been in the same car as me and my family. I was also there Saturday and evacuated off of Space first thing for the guest freak out. Small world! I also thought it was cool seeing the backstage area. We got evacuated off of Matterhorn later in the day, too.

That is a small world! Hope you had a great trip!

We got pulled off to the side last time in the same manner. If they’re quick enough they don’t have to shut down the ride. In our case a car was sent through with no guests I guess. In order to prevent the whole ride shutting down they got us off and let us load into a new car.

My guess is that when the CM's saw the person signaling to stop they had to make an immediate decision without having time to find out if the guest was just scared to ride, or if someone was having a medical emergency, or even if the guests had noticed some safety problem that the CM's and sensors had missed. They probably had to play it safe and stop the ride. I wonder how often this happens.

I do too and have avoided it in years past. Last year I went on it and my strategy was to be the last on, so I sat near the stairs and where the ladder and CM that looks out the top stands. It made a difference as opposed to cramming in the narrower part of the sub. I was able to relax and watch the ride with my kids. I also told the CM I hated feeling trapped and he checked on me during the ride and let me off right away.

I've had this happen too. It's odd, but I know with Space that have to keep it running super quickly or it will shut down.
