Eurostar without Disney Express

Hi all, you might remember me - I used to post here quite a lot but haven't visited in a while! :)

I had a quick search on previous threads but couldn't quite find what I was looking for. I was just wondering about the practicalities of taking the Eurostar to Disneyland without the Disney Express luggage service, which I believe you can only get if you book a Eurostar package - and it's cheaper to book seperately! I have only been by Eurostar once and we did have Disney Express, so it was obviously very simple and painless.

So how does it work if you haven't got the service? Do you have to lug your luggage across Disney Village to your hotel? Can you still use the checkout service where you leave your details on the door (I think this exists, I can't exactly remember)?

I'm probably making this seem more complicated than it is, but it'd be nice to put my mind at ease!!

Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

Hi Emma :wave2:

I know nothing about the Eurostar and Disney Express service  but...

So how does it work if you haven't got the service? Do you have to lug your luggage across Disney Village to your hotel?

I do know that you only have to trundle your case to the bus stops just outside the station, to take the shuttle bus to your hotel. :thumbsup2

Hi Emma
As Bexx says you only have to come out of the station, one floor below the Disney Express Desks, ground level and onto the shuttle bus just outside, as the Eurostar doesn't arrive at DLRP until about 1.30pm if you went straight to your hotel you might even be able to check in a little early but otherwise there's luggage storage at the hotel or if you wanted to go straight to the park then I know someone mentioned in answer to a query I had that there is luggage storage both at the station and inside the park.

You'd be leaving around 6.30pm so you'd have to decide whether to leave your bags at the hotel after check out or whether to take them to the park or station to pick up on your way out of the park. :)

Oh of course, I forgot about the shuttle buses! It sounds like it would be fine to do that then, if there is luggage storage all over the place. Definitely not worth paying the £50-odd quid extra to get Disney Express! Presumably you have to pay for the lockers or however they store your luggage? Anyone know how much this would be?

Thanks girls :)

Hi Emma :wave2: long time no see! ;)
We don't use the Disney Express luggage service. Like Becky and Jill said we just take the shuttle bus to our hotel. Last time our room was ready early, otherwise you can just use the luggage room there.

On our last day we put our cases in Guest Storage in the Disneyland Park, it's just to the right of the ticket booths and costs 2.50 euros per item. You could always use the luggage room at your hotel but might have to waste valuable park time going back to collect them. Or as Jill said there are lockers at the station but I don't know the cost for these.

When are you planning to go? :)

Hi Elaine, nice to see you (so to speak!)! :wave2: I'm *hoping* to go around mid-July time, just before most schools break up for the summer!

I think the Guest Storage and therefore more park time sounds like the best option. Thank you! :wizard:

If I understand your question correctly, are you asking how to get there if you take the regular Eurostar train into Paris?

If so, you arrive at Gare du Nord, get off the Eurostar and catch one of the five local lines. There are three of them that have stops at Les Halles/Chatelet, where you can transfer to the RER line that drops you off outside the Disneyland Hotel. The RER fare is about five euros from Gare du Nord. The lines are well marked on large posters throughout the Metro system. There was a blue, a green and a purple line that all worked for this route, IIRC.

to be honest - i can't believe how much extra it is if you go for that disney luggage service.

i like to go to the hotel first sort my self out then go and play. :goodvibes

Hi darkacre :wave2:

We're talking about a facility called Express Luggage service which is available if you purchase a package holiday from the UK on the direct Eurostar train that runs once each day from London/Ashford.
This means that on arrival at DLP you leave your cases at the station and they are then delivered to your hotel for you. On your departure day you leave them with your hotel and they are delivered to the station for you. :)
