Hi everyone, I was just thinking - what is the procedure with security and a buggy (and toddler?) We've never done the eurostar with a buggy as we drove last uear and previous to that, we didn't take a buggy for ds. I seem to remember that when we went from Ashford, the family in front of us had to fold their buggy down and put it on the conveyor belt through the security machine (where the cases go) is this still the same? If so I may carry dd from the carpark to past security and wheel the buggy whilst folded down to save messing around.

Also can anyone remind me - do we have to remove electrical items and put in seperate trays (like at the airport)

Thanks :)

we had to fold away pushchair to go onto the belt. Also had to empty all our pockets and i had to take my watch and belt off, basically anything metal will cause the detector to go off as you walk through it, just like the airports.

on the french side, my wife even had too drink some of my daughters milk from her bottle to prove it was just milk!

From my 2 previous trips, the french side is far far slower and less organized and the officers there look far meaner and stricter!

Things may have changed since 2012 though.

I'll carry her from the car then! We've not been on the eurostar since 2011 (doesn't seem that long ago!) No milk in bottles to taste thankfully (yuck! I've had to do that in the past at the airport) Are you all set? Its March tomorrow!!!

yes we are all set!! :thumbsup2

if only my kids knew what was happening 2 weeks saturday! :lmao::thumbsup2

So exciting! My ds knows, he came running out of school to tell me he only has 10 days left in school before Disney :) :) dd obviously has no idea lol. Going shopping tomorrow to finish getting what we need then I can start packing!!

We took the eurostar today to Paris. Your electronics have to be in your bag. Not necessarily in a separate tray. As for buggies i cant say as neither my friend or i require those lol!

Disney day on Sunday!!

Thank you for the reply. That's good about the electronics - could see me holding up security while digging around cases for chargers, hairdryer and such like lol.

Coming home we always have to remove the children and put the buggy through the scanner although we dont need to fold it just lie it down.

Going out we have only been asked to fold it down once. They usally wipe it over and scan it.
