Eurostar & Disney Express questions

We are travelling via the Eurostar, and are a little confused as to how luggage is delivered to our hotel. I have read up on the DE system and understand that you just deposit your luggage at the desk and go. Do you provide evidence that you have booked the DE service? What is this? Should we label our luggage with our names, contact number and hotel to try and prevent them being misplaced? What happens if they ARE misplaced?!

I understand that the ES only has two tables in each carriage. Is it just pot luck whether you get one? (there are three of us so ideally we would love to be able to all talk/watch a film together.)

Are there any particularly busy days for the ES? What are these? We are travelling on a Monday and a Friday.

Thank you!

I've read somewhere that cm get into train and find people who have booked DE and I'm sure I've seen someone say they give you luggage tags, park tickets etc on train. I've booked through clippers quay and booked Disney express through them so don't know how that works. If I have to inform Eurostar when I book tickets that I did DE through clippers quay

I haven't used DE yet (first time using it this year) but I have been told that the cm gives you your tickets and luggage labels on the train. Labels are colour coded for each hotel.

As for your seats, don't hope for the best! Go to the Eurostar website now, enter your booking details and then you can go through the carriages to pick the seats you want. I think if you do this to change your seats you'll have to notify Disney Express service of where you're sitting for them to be able to deliver your pack. (Could be wrong about this part.) I've moved my seats a couple of times already. Haven't added the Disney Express part to my booking yet though. Probably will in the next couple of months. ::yes::

Oh okay, thank you!

I don't know if we have been given all of our booking info yet because we booked through a travel agent and I only have receipts for payment, travel info and t & c's. Apparently we get our tickets ten days before travel. For the Eurostar page I need my booking reference and I don't have that yet (only the general one for the entire package of travel/hotel/parks!) I will ring my travel agent today and see what they say...I'm so glad you answered because hopefully we will get a coveted table seat now! Haha! Thanks! :)

From what i can remember, when you get to the eurostar Terminal after you have gone through secutity etc, in the waiting area there is a big disney express desk. You will need to take your confirmation details and show them. They will give you a DE pack for the kids and luggage tags etc that you fill in. You then board the eurostar as normal and take your cases with you. When you get to disney, goto the top floor and to the far right is where the luggage check in is for Disney Express. They will then take your luggage for you and away you go. When you get back to your hotel (in my case it was the Sequoia) check-in should direct you to the luggage area which is just beside the hotel entrance when you then pick up your luggage.

Good news! After a bit of a palarva because we booked Eurostar through our travel agent we have finally booked our seats! We needed to have registered an email address when booking and we hadn't done that and so we couldn't book seats even though we had the booking reference. In the end we just rang Eurostar, spoke to a lovely lady called Joan and now have table seats for both journeys! Carriage 15 on the way there and 17 on the way back, I believe.:yay::yay::yay: we just have to ask for new boarding passes at check-in, apparently. Now let's hope there isn't a poor person on the one spare seat at the table, for their sake!

Fantastic! I would imagine that seat will only be filled if the train is rammed and if it is the person will probably enjoy the entertainment! :thumbsup2

I think we should be okay because we have managed to change the seats this close to our trip so I can't imagine that it is going to be a really busy train- hope not :)

sorry to bump old thread but just wonder if you were happy with Disney Express? I'm still thinking if we should add it on to our booking... also do you think my little boy would also got kids goody bag eventought he wont have ticket as he is only 2?

TIA

We alway use the Express service, it's a great conveniance to be able to drop off your bags at the station and head stright to the parks. The CM comes along the train to find you and gives you for hotel reservation forms to fill in and your park tickets and luggage tages.

For us it means we can check into your hotel much later in the evening.

All the children (big and small) can collect the activity packs. I normally pick one up for my wife :rotfl2: She like the jigsaws.

we will book it then... will wait and see if there is flash sale and will add it on then you never know it might be cheaper in the end...

and is it easy to find information desk for this packs? never travel via eurostar before but we are planning to be at least an hour before so we dont have to rush… I’m starting to be very excited and cannot wait for our trip… first time we will be there for longer and staying onsite…

I used the service for the first time in November and honestly think it was worth every penny. We got our tickets on the train, went up to the desk in the station at Marne-La-Vallee and handed our cases in and then went off to enjoy our day. Pick-up at our hotel (HNY) was fab, they even brought them up to the room for us! Coming home, they collected from our room for us and then they were at the desk when we went to catch the train home. Fantastic service!

As for the packs, I was worried about it too but the information desk is huge (you can't miss it) and they had all the packs sitting out for you to help yourself. My daughter was 18 months old but I had no problem taking one for her and she loved it.
:wave2:

thanks for update lush, I will be definitely adding this to our booking...:goodvibes

Just a quick add, in Ashford you have to go to the DE check in to collect your tickets etc, unlike St Pancras where a CM will find you on board :) The children's packs are given to anyone who asks, you do not have to be using the DE to get one.....a little tip for those who do not decide to use the service is that you can book a return service directly from your hotel at 14 euros per room. We got 9 suitcases etc booked in, you just leave everything with the luggage room and go to the park on your last day and collect your bags from the station along with everyone else :)

We did not add the ME onto our booking just added it the other end at the concierge desk again for a bargain 14 euros !!

We actually found that by the time you had got off the train and then queued at the magical express desk you probably didnt save that much time

One word of advice though

We were told to turn up at the desk to pick our cases up 30mins before departure but we turned up about an hour before as it took nearly 20 minutes to get through the luggage xrays - even balloons were scanned !!
