ET's Pre trip and Trip report. TR pg 6 #87. New 10/14 THE END on pg 19 #271

Disneyland mama- It was fun with just the girls. Probably the most fun on the whole trip at the theme parks. MGM at night is fun! Everyone seems to be in a playful mood. :goodvibes Yes, Snow white comes by her sarcastic wit honestly. :teeth: And thank you, I thought I had lost it and forgot how after 3 kids.... :rotfl: Yes, we have received the Envelope of Doom.....

cherokeemama- Hey :wave2: I was looking forward to reading your trip report when I got back and there wasnt anything on your TR. :sad2: My trip was ummmm, interesting. It just ended up raising more problems and questions.

My oldest dd is a definite mix of me and her dad. But I'm glad you see me in her. :thumbsup2 She is at least developing some of my personality..... Hopefully the good part! :teeth:

ET! you mean you actually rode Rockin Rollar Coaster and you do NOT have a ride photo to post!!!! I would LOVE to see that! (Aren't we DISers sooooo demanding?!)

Gmax, no way on earth would I have posted that picture! It just wasnt, well, pretty! :teeth: I looked horrified... which begs the question of why my oldest daughter is smiling in all those ride pictures.... she has an inate sense of where the camera is and when it's going to take a picture. I don't know how she does it. Every ride picture we saw, there I was with my mouth wide open and there she was just posing for the camera.... :rotfl:

But if they had put the ride pics on photopass, I would have gotten them. I can't pass up a bargain.... They say that ride pics on photopass is coming in the future, so when it does you can see all the pictures I had taken of my tonsils. :lmao:

Good thing you girls didn't hit Pleasure Island - no telling the trouble you would have gotten into, and poor Snow White would have been forced to cover for you guys! Sounds like you all had a terrific Girls' Night Out :cheer2:

That's so neat about the CM crediting your room charges. Amazing how far a simple "Thank You" can go, isn't it. :goodvibes

Unfortunately, this means the trip is ending soon, doesn't it? :sad2:

I love to hear about your daughter's random acts of kindness! Test Track and Soarin are two of my favorites! :thumbsup2

I posted before I read about Girls Night Out. How fun!! :cheer2:

I had decided to stop and ask about what time we needed to be at the hotel for the Magical express the next day. She went and found The Envelope of Doom for us and brought it back to the front. I smiled at her and said thank you. Then I said, “I would also like to thank you for moving us into a different room when we arrived and didn’t have hot water.” She stared at me. She said, “You didn’t have hot water?” And we said no we didn’t. She said, “That’s not right. Let me see what I can do for you.” I said, “No, you don’t have to do anything. You moved us to a room with hot water and it was a better room and we just wanted to say thank you.” She said, “You don’t understand. Nobody ever comes to us and says Thank You. It’s not fair that only the rude people get taken care of.” I protested again, “But I only wanted to say thank you.” She said, “Nice people deserve compensation too. I am giving you both a $100 room credit.” I didn’t know what to say. I just said “Thank you” again and we went to our room. I couldn’t believe that just a simple thank you would do something like that. It was very special.

Sunshine sure does cascade, doesn't it? :sunny:

We probably would have gotten into way too much trouble at Pleasure Island and it's funny that you mentioned that. We were joking with Snow white about going on to DTD but that she wasn't old enough to go with us! :rotfl:

That was a very nice thing for the CM to do. We realized at that point that we needed to make sure we told everyone thank you that we ran into.

Yes, I'm fixing to post the last installment. :sad2:

Thank you! I wish I had taken a picture of the people's faces when they realized she was just being nice. But it probably would have spoiled the whole mood if I had. :) She did make a lot of people smile though, which I am very proud of her for. :goodvibes

I loved Soarin. Its my all time favorite now. Test track was fun and I was glad to get to ride it, since last time I was here I didn't get to. It was a little bumpy, but I think it's probably more fun the second time since you know what's going to happen. So I will try this again when we go back. :thumbsup2

It was amazing to see her face. I hadn't realized up until that point how many people probably weren't very nice to her. :guilty: So I'm glad we could make her feel better and it was nice to receive the credit, but I wasn't expecting it. :goodvibes I would have said Thank you for free! :teeth:

Day 7 The final chapter.

We manage to get packed and drop off our bags at the magical express desk in front of our hotel by 10:30 am and we’re ready to head off to Epcot. We hop on the monorail and after a change at the TTC, we arrive at Epcot. My oldest daughter can’t wait to start pin trading since it’s her last day. I end up spending $$$ on trading pins since we are going home today. I don’t know how it happened, but it did! She was so charming and sweet and conned me out of my money…..

After that we headed over to the Land pavilion to eat lunch at the Garden Grill which is one of my favorite places for character interaction. We arrived a little early and they were nice enough to work us in earlier than our reservations. When I had made the ADR originally, I had made it for the night before. But after all the problems with others in our party not wanting to do what we had planned, I had changed them so we wouldn’t be under as much pressure. So thankfully, the Garden Grill worked us in and I, the dinner nazi, made my kids stop coloring at the kid station outside the restaurant and come eat lunch. I’m such a mean mom.

We really enjoy eating at the GG.

The characters came by to see us around 4 or 5 different times and spent a lot of time interacting with all the kids. I’m sure most of you already know this but, it is best to sit your kids on the outside of the table closest to the aisle. The characters interact with them so much more when you do. One example of this is when my oldest daughter is eating and not paying attention to anything going on around her. Chip sneaks up behind her and slams his fist down on the table.

As you can see she is minding her own business eating her dinner.

She jumped out of her seat and we all couldn’t stop laughing for awhile. She didn’t let anyone sneak up on her again after that!

After scaring her, he takes time to play with her little sister!

My dh and I celebrated our anniversary while we were at the GG because I couldn’t think of any place else I would have rather celebrated it. This is where my dad celebrated his birthday when he went with us to WDW so there are a lot of memories there. The CM was very nice and even brought us out a little cake which was very good.

My husband and I celebrating our anniversary. Notice my Bloom Gloom Eeyore shirt!

After all the laughter and celebrating we decided to try and ride Soarin again. This time I let my dh go on the ride and I stayed with our little girl. I told him he’d have a great time… While I was waiting, a very nice older English couple came up and we started up a conversation and I asked them about coming to WDW. They said the loved to come and tried to get here every year. They stay in a condo outside the park and try to arrive in before it opens. Uggghhhh. I said, “Wow, you must get up really early.” They laughed and said, “We get up early, but our kids don’t want to get up early so we always end up coming to the park later than we’d like.” This couple was in their late 60’s or 70’s and the kids they were referring to had to be in their late 30’s or early 40’s. I had to laugh because our generation as a whole seem not to be morning people. I asked them if they stayed for a week and they said no. They always stayed for a minimum of two weeks and after WDW they would go to Sea World and other parts of Florida before returning home. They said the airplane ticket was the most expensive part of the trip so they always tried to do quite a bit while they were over here. I thought they were very interesting people and I was glad to have someone to sit and talk to since Soarin seemed to be taking a very long time. I found out after everyone came back, that it had broken down and they moved everyone over to the FP side.

As I was talking to this nice couple my family finally showed up off the ride. My dh joined in the conversation with this couple as I went to take my turn to ride with child swap. I didn’t get to ask my dh how or if he liked the ride before I left so I had to wait until I came back out. My two oldest girls wanted to go with me on the ride again. They loved it. The only thing they didn’t like was seeing other people’s feet over their head when they were in the last row. I didn’t care. I just loved this ride. Someone else on this forum, no names mentioned, has said that this is there 2nd favorite ride after EE. Well, since EE was broke when we tried to ride it, I wouldn’t know….

After I got off this ride I finally located my left behind not too happy daughter. She wanted to ride it so bad. She loves to fly. I felt so bad for her. This is the only time she cried when she couldn’t ride a ride. She had heard us say it was like flying and she wanted to go. Well I finally got to ask my dh if he liked the ride and he said, “Well it was okay.” What??!! He was being all macho manly on me not wanting to admit that he absolutely loved it. I know because if he had hated it, I would not have heard the end of it! Well after riding soaring we walked around a little more before having to leave and go back to the hotel. Bummer. The time has come for us to go home. We’re all a little sad as we head back to the monorail. Well at least most of us are sad as we head back to the hotel. When we arrive back at the GF we head over to the grill to use up the rest of our CS credits and pick up some sandwiches to take to the airport with us. We pick up the food, and a few more trading pins at the gift shop on the way back. I let my kids go in to the bathroom at the front of the hotel and change into the tshirts they had autographed by the characters we met on this trip.

After they finish up we all meet up out front and picked up our non checked bags and sat down to wait for the magical express bus. We were all a bit melancholy at this point just wishing we had more time to spend at Disney. My daughter, not wanting to miss any opportunities took off to see if any of the bellman had any trading pins so she could trade up to the very last minute of her vacation. Unfortunately for her, nobody did. But while she was walking around asking everyone, one of the bellman asked her what was all over her shirt. She laughed and said, “Autographs from the characters we saw.” He laughed and said, “Can I sign your shirt too?” She laughed back and since she was wearing the tshirt she said , “No, but you can sign my autograph book!” His smile was so big! He started yelling at all his friends standing out front of the hotel, “Hey she wants my autograph.” By the way, his name was John! We know because we have his autograph! My dh looked at me and said, “Snow white just made his day and maybe his whole week. I bet no one’s ever asked for his autograph before.” My dh was so proud of her for thinking on her feet and making this guy’s day. Then, the bus came…….

It was so quiet on the bus going back to the airport compared to the bus we had arrived on to WDW. Just a whole different atmosphere. We make it through security and sit down to eat our dinner in the airport. It’s so sad to realize that it’s over already and that it’s time to head back to the real world.

Howdy ET
I saw you were on so I just had to say HI!!!
I never read if you loved or hated RnR? My family loves it!!! My favorite is the take off... Funny thing; last fall my kids said no way, no how but then we finally convinced them and now they are hooked. DH and I say, "Oh no, What have we done? We have created thrill seekers!" That is all they want to do now.

I really loved Soarin' also. I hope they change the film from time to time to keep it interesting.

Are you planning your next trip yet? Have you ever been around Christmas? I am seriously thinking about early December next year. I would love to take a trip with just DH but I don't know if I could handle the guilt :teeth: . Financially, we probably could not do 2 trips in one year :guilty: . However, our 20th anniversary is in the Spring...maybe a long weekend trip :confused3 .

Hope you have a wonderful weekend. :woohoo:

 YA!

Howdy again...
I just had to comment.
I guess you were posting pictures while I was posting :rotfl2: .

I love the pictures....you girls are so cute and sweet. Especially like the one with Ariel...how cute! Also, love the idea of having an autograph T-shirt. You are so clever. :thumbsup2 What type of pen was used for the autographs? I haven't read the last installment - just looked at the pictures  .

I will read I promise.

Talk to you soon :wave2:

ET....SHUT UP! (I mean that in a good way!)

I have truly enjoyed getting to know you though this Trip Report as well as in person!

I have been truly blessed knowing you :goodvibes !!!!

((sigh)) I was just reminded of "our" last day after reading about yours!
My family even pin traded at the Disney Store at the airport! Plus we had bought the one's we were unable to trade for!

Thank you for sharing your vacation with us! NOW, you have to go back! When would THAT be? Hmmmm?

In the mood for tea?

ET, thank you again for choosing to share your trip with all of us here in DIS cyber-world - it has truly been a pleasure! :goodvibes I'm so glad your family had a great vacation, and I just know you'll be back in my neck of the woods. Hopefully, I'll get to meet you in person on the next trip!

ET.............great TR thanks for sharing and for allowing us to "go on this trip with you", the pics are great. You have a beautiful family, enjoy them and their love of Disney while you can, my kids have grown up too fast and don't want to go to WDW with DH and I anymore (they would rather go with their friends).

Happy Early Anniversary! :cool1: :cheer2:  :yay: :dance3:

We liked RnR, but it was a little rough on the takeoff. Probably not so bad the second time around! We'll have to try it again. I love Soarin, and I love the smell-o-vision! I don't care if they change the movie as long as they keep the smell thing! :teeth:

We have seriously been talking about going again next September. My mom might even go next time. So there may be a stay at Ft. Wilderness Lodge in our future... :rotfl: Do ya'll think you'll go back in September or December? I heard a rumor, a nasty one, that Disney might not offer free dining anymore. :confused3 Tell me it isn't so... :sad2:

I have taken kidless trips in the past, but not to a kid type place like Disney. I agree I might feel guilty while riding all the rides... :guilty: :teeth: A long weekend trip isn't like really going there on vacation...so it should be guilt free! :thumbsup2 I'm hoping ya'll are having a great weekend too! We're fixing to go see The Guardian at our local theatre.

AND I NEVER REMEMBER TO SIGN OFF! So please nobody get your feelings hurt if I don't respond when it says I'm on. :guilty: I've probably just forgotten to sign off or been lazy in signing off. :confused3

And as Umama says, LOF YA!~ :goodvibes

PS The pen we used for the autographs was a large oval sharpie which made it easy for the characters to hold with their big hands and sign. :)
