Ethan Allen Furniture

I'm in love with a bedroom set from Ethan Allen. It's quite pricey though. Perhaps even too pricey, but of course, it's the only set that I really have fallen for!

Any thoughts/experiences with furniture by Ethan Allen?

Well, I've got one breakfast room table and two of its original chairs after about 21 years of use. Of course my son 'took care' of the other two! He's heck on chairs!
The table is in great shape though, and only has one little bad spot on it and that was from a toilet bowl cleaner being spilled on it years ago.
Good luck on your choice. If you can afford it it's always good to not only go with sturdy furniture, but some you really LOVE.

All of my house is Ethan Allen furniture and it's GREAT!!! MY bedroom set is the oldest and it's 8 years old. It still looks like NEW!!! There are a few dings and dent from when we moved, but otherwise looks GREAT!!! One thing about Ethan Allen, their furniture is built to LAST!!! It's worth the extra money, because you'll probably never need another one!!

Some of the best furniture you can buy. We have been replacing old furniture with Ethan Allen. So far 3 bedrooms are EA and the entertainment center downstairs.

My Ex has the old bedrom set we used to have It was from Ethan Allen. the only thing it was made of pine so it nicked fast. By the time he got it in our divorce it was really scratched and nick, Hmmmmmmm, I wonder how that got so bad. of course, I did it but before I got so vindictive that set was a set that will last a lifetime.

I just have to add my two cents.

Prior to our wedding, I fell in love with an Ethan Allen bedroom set. We then bought it shortly after our marriage. It is a Georgian Court poster bed, cherrywood. Twenty-seven years and three moves later, it is still in great condition and I still love it. We did have glass tops custom made for nightstands and dressers. That has helped over the years to protect from makup and water stains and such.

We have Ethan Allen living room furniture and our son's bedroom is Ethan Allen. We told him he will take that set with him when he leaves us.

We recently bought a dining room set, unfortunately, it's not Ethan Allen. I cannot justify spending the amount of money they want for a room that does not get used every day.

I say go for it! Our bedroom set has only increased in value, both monetarily and sentimentally. Don't shortchange yourself. You deserve it.

Oh - and as far as experiences....I had them come because of some problem with the couch and then also the loveseat. They came promptly and efficiently took care of the problems (loose buttons both times). This was a few years after we owned the furniture. I believe it is a 5-year warranty.

And just prior to getting ready to hit the *POST* button, I just recalled that my DH's chest of drawers had a problem when we first got it. There was a slight gap between the top and the chest. EA came and replaced the top, no charge, no problem.

Our living room and dining room are EA. They are both 10 years old and showing no signs of wear. We use both these rooms frequently.

thanks! I think we are going to go for it. A lot of our house has lots of antiques (200 year old, big furniture). Some I like, some I don't, but it's from dh's family, so we keep it.

EA seems to really fit in with some of the antiques we have. It will cost a small fortune for the bedroom set, but it's not like the money will be earning much interest sitting in the bank right now, lol. I really like a couch of theirs too, but with my 100 pound dog, I just can see him ruining it. We'll see for the future on that one.

Much of EA furniture is hand crafted here in Vermont. You are getting furniture made by families who have worked in EA factories for many years. These people are very proud of their work and the furniture lasts for years!

My parents gave me an EA dining room set years ago that they purchased used years before that. I hated the look of it (just not my style) but it lasted forever! I finally sold it at a yard sale and bought something new. Well I wish I had my old EA set back. I should have sanded and re-finished instead of buying this cheap set that's totally uncomfortable.

I hadn't thought about it in years but I have a set a bookshelves that were my mom and dad's. They purchased them when I was in the 3rd grade...many years ago. My mom also has her original bedroom set and living room set which they bought at the same time. I guess they are built to last!! Maybe that's the route we should go when it's time to start replacing our furniture. I know from experience, it's built sturdy!
