Got the following email

ATTENTION! The travel authorization submitted on June 2, 2014 via ESTA will expire within the next 30 days. It is not possible to extend or renew a current ESTA travel authorization. You will need to apply for a new ESTA travel authorization. Please reapply at https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov if travel to the United States is intended in the near future. If there are 30 or more days left on the old authorization you will receive a warning message during the application and be asked if you wish to proceed.

Are they not for 2 years any more

Passports are still in date for 5 yrs - anyone have any ideas why we could have got this email?

I would ring the USA Embassy, as the ESTA is valid for 2 years.

No they have 5 yrs left- I think I will just redo them to be on the safe side

I'd give it a few days and see whether there's a follow up email about it being sent in error. I'd also just turn up with the valid ESTA printed out.

Why don't you go to the site and retrieve your applications - check the actual dates, when you last got them did you get them as a group? maybe someone else in the party has expired. We use to be in-sync with our ESTAs but with kids passports being for 5 years it is all out now
