For all you you that have made the trip...Can you please get me an estimate of how much you think I would spend for a day on food in the park. We would just be eating at the counter. It would be me my DH and 2 daughters ages 5 and 10. Thanks

You can look up prices and menus at nearly every restaurant on Disney property, under the dining section of this website (not the message board portion). This is how I calculated our food budget.

I went so far as to figure in tip (18% average) for sit down meals and tax (6.5%).

Granted, my family most likely won't order what I figured they would, but I have a really good ball-park average to work with.

Not only that, but if you do change your mind and decide to do something other than counter meals, your 10 y/o would pay as an adult and I"m almost positive that he/she would have to order off of the adult menu, as well. Correct me if I'm wrong.

HTH. :)

I know that allears network as a menu section under dining with the prices on the food. I used it to compare out of poctet expenses vs. disney dining plan, so that I could decide what works for us. We spend around $100 a day, that was usually one counter service and 1 table service for 2 ad and 2 girls age 8 & 9. Good luck, Dena

For your family that is just eating counter service. I would estimate 100/day for meals, snacks and drinks (water, soda). I't usually just my wife and I and we spend about 100/day for the both of us but we have 1 Table Service per day also

I agree with the other posters, that the online menus are a great way to estimate your food costs.

However, if you're just looking for a ballpark estimate:
Counter service adult entree + side = $6-7
Adult soft drink = $2 - $2.50
Kid's meal including drink = $4-6

So, I'd probably estimate $9 adult, and $5 per child, per meal. If you're looking to save money you could probably do some things like share a large drink instead of ordering two smalls, or share a meal that has big portions. When we went in december (me, DH, DS7, DD3), I overestimated because I budgeted for everyone to get their own meal each time, but we ended up sharing several times. But, don't forget to budget for a few snacks here and there. Our favorite (mickey mouse ice cream bars) are $2.50 each.

You can easily figure about $10 per adult per meal for CS. Most meals are in the $6.50 to $8.00 range not including drink. For kids it's about $5.00 - $7.00 a meal. So based on those calculations it's about $35/per meal for your family of 4.

Hope this helps!

We we go, two adults and two kids, we never get away from a counter service meal for less than $40.
