so... I have to write an essay about a woman in history whose traits/qualities that I admire. Problem is, I can't seem to think of anybody. I really don't want to write about anybody that is always written about, like Rosa Parks. Any suggestions?

How about Elanor Roosevelt? She was one amazing woman.

oh yeah i had not thought about her. At this point she is definately on the list of possibilities

it has to be farther back in history. It cant be a current person. But that would have been really cool. :)

Susan B. Anthony.
She fought for the women's right to vote.

joan d'arc-> died for what she believed in
Wilma Rudolph -> paved way for women to follow after her
queen elizabeth-> shes the frickin queen of england
belle boyd-> confederate spy during the civil war.
sally hemings-> gave up freedom from slavery to be with the man she loved (pres jefferson)
amelia earhart-> said "courage is the price life extracts for granting peace within yourself."
billie jean king-> when billie beat bobby
ida b wells-> founder of the naacp

I second Queenie!
I love myself anyone who's on my money.

I second Joan of Arc! She was one influential lady in her day.

Mkay... so right now it seems to be between Joan and Elizabeth. Thanks girlies!

i did a fifteen minute presentation on her, without notes, and moved a football player to tears. :cool2:

GO SHELBY!
Maybe you should consider the (high paying) job of being a lecturer.

Wow Shelby. I've always known that you've had a way with words, but that must have been phenomenal! (sp)

whatever you do, don't call her JOAN OF ARC. that wasn't her name.

her recorded name is Jehanne Darc.
then some people couldn't freaking read and wrote Joan D'arc.

in french D with an apostrophe put next to a word becomes "of"

her name is not joan of arc. its Jehanne Darc. (its said like Jenn dark)

Okay so now I think I'm going to write about Joan d'Arc. She seems like she will be easy to reseach. Thanks!!!

Try putting this in that essay, it's a random fact I learned about her: She has the most statues out of any historical figure.
