ESPN Wide World of Sports Expansion

Cheerleading events are held at the Indy theater in DHS? My girlfriend coaches a Cheerleading Team (don't worry, we both made sure they did not add to the annoyance of other Cheerleaders who are disrespectful in the parks) and her team competed at the Wide World of Sports. Do you know the name of the competition that is held at the Indy theater?
Sometimes yes cheerleading events are held at the Indy theater. The rest of the time they are at the WWoS.

Interestingly enough this permit does not have a completion date listed.

Also a few years back a 100 lane bowling complex was supposed to be built on site for USBC tournaments. It was supposed to be completed for 2014 but was put on hold or canceled. That building was supposed to be around 160,000 square feet. This building having two floors means one of those could very well be for that 100 lane complex. I recall following that story because my dad is a bowler and bowls in USBC events (2012 USBC Open Singles Champion). I'm very interested to see what comes of this.

My daughter's team went to Disney for the 3 years she was on Pom Pom, they leave today for the competition this weekend, the company is UDA (Universal Dance Association) and they could use this for the competition. They currently use both buildings at WWOS and a large tent, along with Indiana Jones for the competition. Our last year in 2014 UDA had to set up a tent for some of the competition it's gotten that big, this building would be large enough so they don't have to use Indiana Jones or a temporary tent. They also have high school Cheer teams, and College cheer, and dance teams over the next few weeks. It's a huge amount of teams and parents, I'm sure it's big business for Disney during a slow time after the holidays. On one of the nights Hollywood studios is closed to all guests other than the Pom Pom teams and guests.

Actually, the date not being on the permit is not at all unusual. This is a South Florida Water Management District permit and they rarely have details about when construction will actually happen. These permits do have expirations dates, but they are generally 10+ years in the future.

Both I and my kids play soccer at a local field house that is about that size. In it they've got 4 indoor soccer fields (also used for flag football, indoor baseball, kickball, lacrosse, etc; 8 volleyball courts that can go into 4 basketball courts, and a grill/bar area and 2 smaller fields on a 2nd floor. It could very well be something similar to host a variety of events.

My official guess will be an area specifically for dance and cheer competitions. I worked at WWoS for many years and the place just isn't large enough to host those competitions. They actually have outdoor areas set up for bigger competitions so they have 3 HUGE tents (think circus size) as well as the jostens and field house. I'd love for it to be an ice rink to watch hockey and skating competitions but I think my suspicions will end up being true

I would guess yes and no. I'm thinking multi-purpose arena that can be used for many different things like competitions, basketball, baseball, etc.

This is probably going to be a multi purpose venue. This year's Night of Joy has been moved to the WWOS instead of the Magic Kingdom due to sell out crowds.

As an aside, I wonder if Disney is building this to have Indiana Jones close down late next year as part of either Star Wars or something else going on in the studios. That new place could be used for the larger Basketball events like the Thanksgiving week tournament that's shown on ESPN.

Yep, Indiana jones is still rumored to close eventually. In the press release they said the venue could hold 6 basketball courts so I would imagine they could use it for events like that as well.
