Hi I'm new here and have a question.

We've booked our airfare and are almost done booking the rest of our trip for 3/3 - 3/10 2006. I *just* saw that there will be an ESPN weekend at MGM the first weekend we'll be down there. Will that make the parks busier? Will it only make MGM busier than normal? I was hoping that since we were going after President's day and before many Spring breaks start, that we'd get lucky with not a ton of crowds. Now I see this ESPN weekend thing and I'm worried that the parks will be a lot busier than I thought. Should I just avoid MGM that weekend??? Any thoughts and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Lisa

I poked around this site a bit more last night and was directed to the touringplans site. I found some info that showed me that yes, that weekend will be very busy in MGM and it might be worthwhile to go to other parks that day. Tell my husband that! If anyone still has any more input, please respond. Thank you.

Hi I was there last year during this weekend. We were in MGM & went to WHO Wants to be a Millionaire? on that day & had a blast-we got a fast pass for it. It was rainy that day so the crowds were manageable. I am sure the weather had something to do w/ it being not so crazy. I guess you could hope for drizzle that day! :thumbsup2 But seriously, I have also been there during President's week & I thought MK was almost unmanageable!! But we got thru that as well. So, I think you'll be fine-perhaps map out what you really want to see in MGM & get fast passes when you can. Not sure if that helped!? Deb

Thank you Deb.

Your perspective definitely helps!

We've thought about it and what we've "planned" is to hit MGM when it opens and head straight back to the stunt show to meet the Power Rangers. Then we'll try to get a fast pass to the Rock N Rollercoaster or Tower of Terror - while we wait for our time, we'll hit a few other attractions that might not have long lines (Muppets 3D, Backlot Tour, Honey I Shrunk Adventure Play Set, etc...). We've planned to leave if it gets too busy and hairy. We'll head on over to MK and since it's our first full day in the parks, no one will mind leaving MGM for MK. LOL.

Meeting the Power Rangers right off the bat is our goal, so if we accomplish that on Saturday, then we've gotten far. :-)

We are going to WDW especailly for ESPN weekend. The crowds are very managable at MGM. It does get crowed by Rockand Roller coaster because that is where the interactive area is,but its still alot of fun
