I’m getting concerned that this may not reopen. We loved going to ESPN Club to watch games when we are there. I will be so disappointed if they dont reopen.
I’ve been to Splitsville but not to City Works. Why do you think City Works could go “very close” to “high priced hotel rooms” but Splitsville couldn’t? The bowling alleys making too much noise?Thinking it won't. There were some rumors of a second Splitsville going there but I can't see that as high priced hotel rooms would be very close. Would love to see a second City Works there.
Yep. I had a room at All star sports one time where someone upstairs sounded like they eere bowling. It wasnt fun.I’ve been to Splitsville but not to City Works. The issue is PARKING... THE bwalk area does not have enough parking for another "draw' . The only other place (other than our room) that we have found to be a decent place on property to watch games is the Rainforest Cafe ..... this was the case a few years back at least Any other recommendations we would apprecitate as well.I’m getting concerned that this may not reopen. LOL. Splitsville vs. City Works has nothing to do with parking. That has been and will be a problem as long as any restaurants, lounges, shops etc. are at BW and the Epcot IG is right there, open for anyone to use. Add in parking for the convention center, and there’s not enough space. I think Disney should charge for parking at BW if you’re not staying there. The bars and restaurants could comp a certain number of hours but not enough to make it worth leaving your car there all day to visit Epcot. The issue is PARKING... Okay - but Splitsville lanes wouldn’t be above the hotel rooms. The hotel is above that space. So again, what would be the difference between Splitsville and City Works in how they’d affect the hotel guests?Yep. Guess you didn't get my a anaology. I know the hotel rooms are above ESPN space. I actually have stayed right above the ice cream parlor. Have you ever heard bowling balls hitting bowling pins? Let alone 10-20 lanes of that happening? Aside from the part about I don't think there is even 1/4 of the room needed there. ESPN club was not that big of a footprint. To me, the only thing that fits that space is a bar/restaurant- thus City works or something like that.Okay - but Splitsville lanes wouldn’t be above the hotel rooms. The hotel is above that space. Okay, thanks, now I understand. I just wasn't sure what the difference was between the two, if it was simply the bowling alleys or something else. I agree a place to watch sports would do well there - but being a BWV owner who's spent plenty of time circling the lot looking for a parking space and then watching the lot empty out shortly after Epcot closes, I'm not sure I want a place that would draw more visitors than the Boardwalk already does. And yes, I definitely remember when Boardwalk was promoted by Disney as a destination, just as Pleasure Island was.Guess you didn't get my a anaology. I know the hotel rooms are above ESPN space. We’ve enjoyed the ESPN Club too. But given that one of the most frequent complaints about the Epcot resorts (especially BW) is the lack of a place to eat indoors without a table service reservation, I could see them putting a food court there. My sister owns at Boardwalk. When we were there in May, a manager told her that they were considering adding a food court in that space. I think they need to keep it as it is. We’ve had so many fun nights in there rooting for our teams.
We own at BW also. A food court would be an okay thing for the resort, but I would also miss ESPN. The food was okay, they took Tables in Wonderland, and catching a game on the big screen was fun even without a rooting interest. My sister owns at Boardwalk. That would be great and would fit perfectly with the boardwalk atmosphere.I don't want any new restaurant there personally. Give me a nice lounge with music and alcohol
