Escape: Swap Ceremony Photos for Illuminations Photos?

I just dont see the point in wasting a day taking pictures for just 2

I wouldn't.

I believe it's Disney's way of discouraging people from going with outside vendors. After all, If I knew I was essentially losing my photography that is including in the package that I'm paying for by using an outside vendor then I would probably not use one...They know they are doing....;)

It's not a day, it's an hour. And if you don't want to swap out the photography, you don't have to. Most people start off with wanting an outside photographer, and Disney obliges by swapping out for a honeymoon shoot. The fact that they allow this to be swapped out at all is generous; nothing else in the package gets swapped out. If you don't use the limo, you lose it. If you don't use the cake, you lose it. Etc. But if you don't use their photographer, you get the *option* of doing the honeymoon shoot.

I see it as a nice give on their end and I understand (though don't agree) with their decision to reduce the number of photos. From their perspective, you're saying you don't want to use them as a vendor, so it's their right to limit what they give you in exchange.

But you are paying for it...it's just part of a package. I understand that they don't have to and it's their perogative. Again, I know it was my choice to hire an outside vendor. I'll just be upset if I don't get the photographs I wanted because I specifically asked before I booked Randy...

That's funny that Rosie would tell you one thing and me another...especially since your wedding is a few days before mine. It was about a month ago that I talked to her...Hmmmmm....:confused3

I only contacted her a couple of weeks ago to arrange our photo's, and this comes from her email to me dated June 20th:
The alternate session will receive a 2 print 5x7 folio and all the images will be on the website for you.

I wonder if you get to at least pick the two photos yourself?

I believe this is it exactly.

I booked mine and then Rosie said that it's just 2 5x7" photo's in a folio (with the rest on the website), but now I'm thinking it's probably not worth taking time out of our busy schedule for just 2 pics, and we'll just have our Photopass pic's (that we've already decided to have).

I got the same email. It appears that it is changing, but she said it would 'be down the road a little bit'. This is what the email that she sent me said:

I will be happy to book the alternate session for you in Epcot.
We usually do that around 10:00am, what day were you thinking?
You will receive a 2 print 5x7 folio as well as a website to view or order any of the other images.

I then emailed her back and said:

Also in your email, it said we get a 2 print folio, is that correct? I was under the impression that it was more photographs than that.

And she emailed back and said:

My mistake on the alternate session, you will still get a 20 print 4x6 album. We are changing things but that is a little ways down the road yet.
The 20 images in this album are chosen by the photographer.

So, it looks like it will eventually change, but as of late May, it was still a 20 prints.
