Day 13 - Part 4 - Our First Time at the Laugh Floor

After getting into the park and meeting the boss man, Mickey, we headed into the park via Main Street for the last time on this trip.

Of course some photopass pictures were in order:

By the time we finished that it was time for dinner and we were trying somewhere that DW or I couldn’t remember ever eating before:

As we had been whenever possible on this trip we just had to look for the mobile order sign:

This place was jam packed, but mobile order was so easy and we even found a great table overlooking it’s a small world.

First off, I got the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich. Let me say we just wanted something different tonight and weren’t expecting much with this place, but flatbreads and stuff sounded good. Well, this sandwich was actually fairly good. I mean it wasn’t the highest quality by any means, but I would get this again if I came here.

We also got some breadsticks for all of us to share. DS2 actually devoured these!

DW got the Pepperoni and Sausage Flatbread and gave a couple of pieces to DS2. She didn’t like it a whole lot. She actually much preferred the flatbread we had at Beach Club Marketplace and the two should be pretty similar. The bread here wasn’t cooked as well and that is obviously an important part of a flatbread pizza.

DS6 ordered a kids cheese pizza and he ate every bit of it! The bread on the kids pizza was a little different or at least cooked a lot better than DW’s flatbread.

We had a great time on this meal of looking out at the ride and the boys were waving at the people and holding up the signs.

I also ordered the Italian Cream Cake to try and DS6 ended up eating most of it. It was good, but very rich and so DW and I could only have a couple of bites. It wasn’t too much for DS6 to handle though!

We spent a few minutes getting ready to head back into the park. Funny story as we were picking up the food was a lady wanted to return her french fries because they were cold. So the cast member kindly got her some new, hot french fries. The lady rudely tried to give the plate of cold fries back, but the cast member said, for sanitary reasons we can’t take back food so you can keep both. The lady just kind of threw them on the counter, not wanting to take them. Well, the worker had to do something so she quickly moved them into the trash and then looked at us and said, “You guys didn’t see me do that did you?” I quickly said, “See what?” But DS6 didn’t pick up on the joke and said, “Yes, I did!” So she told him to please not tell her boss, Mickey, because she would get in trouble. She then got him one of the twisty Mickey straws you can buy and gave it to him to “bribe” him to stay quiet. It was a fun moment that was created by another guest being less than happy!

After finishing dinner we headed across the path to family favorite attraction:

Yes, Mickey’s Philharmagic and it was great as usual!

After that we headed towards tomorrowland because we had a FP, but we had a little time to kill so we decided to pop into Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor and it would be our first visit to this ride ever!

This show was awesome! I don’t know why, in all of our trips, we’ve never done this. We will definitely be back!

It was about 7:15 when we finished the show and we still had about 15 minutes before our next FP, what do you think we did in Tomorrowland?

Like you said, sometimes people just have that kind of attitude...we've learned that in all of our trips. What was great about this was that the cast member just rolled with it and went right on about her business and made some magic for us, the very next guests.

Yes, I wouldn't mind an update either as long as it keeps a similar format. We love looking back at the great Disney movies of the past!

I don't know. I guess it was just never on our must do list like you said. I know we had planned on it in the past before, but you know how things go and as you are going around the park you have to be flexible and I guess it had just already gotten cut while we were in the park. But this time we did it and it was very fun!

Day 13 - Part 5 - A Great Final Night

After our first visit ever to Monster’s Inc. we had a little time to kill before a fastpass and of course we decided to take a ride on the TTA. I mean, this ride has to be done on your last night in the Magic Kingdom, right?

After our ride it was about 7:40 and time for DS6 and I to use our fastpass at Space Mountain. We had a fantastic ride, but as you can see we were so tired we fell asleep during the launch! The guy in front of DS6 most certainly wasn't asleep!

When we came out we were so confused where they were sending us, but it was to this new temporary exit off of the ride. Earlier in our trip this wasn’t here and I know now-days the new exit is done, without the moving walkway I think, but this was the first day of this alternate exit. Super strange, but we did get some early views of Tron!

The weird part about the new walkway was that you had to wait for a few minutes if a train was coming. The train whistle was pretty loud to DS6 righ here:

At 8:05 or so we were out and headed across the park to another FP, but we had to make it through the hub. People were getting lined up and ready for Happily Ever After:

DS6 said he needed a snack, so what a perfect time to stop for a snack of one of these babies before our ride...so delicious!

We got to Splash at about 8:20 and headed in to use our FP. It took us about 15 minutes to get through the FP line, but before long we were heading on one of my favorite rides!

We had a great ride and before we headed to do anything else I needed a final one of these for the trip:

The next plan was to head around to Fantasyland for a few things, but the boys were getting tired. So we only had maybe one or two more rides in us. We asked the boys what they wanted and they said...Tea Cups. I said hey now boys, are you sure, “Yes dad, we want to spin fast!” DW just laughed at me at that point because we all know she is not doing the Tea Cups! Anyways as we headed that way we got to see the fireworks walking through Liberty Square and then from over in Fantasyland.

Now, don’t ask how I got that picture over top of Big Top Souvenirs. That is a weird way to get from Liberty Square to the Tea Cups...I don’t know how we managed that???

Anyway, the boys got their wish at about 9:30...a final ride on the Tea Cups. For the record I did not throw up!

After the ride the boys said they were ready to go back to the hotel. They were pooped, but we had such a great trip! DW managed to get a collage posted for the day as we were walking out:

As always we had to get a picture with sad faces...well, not sure what DS2’s face really is, I guess it was a sad face to him! haha

A bus was waiting on us, yes! Unfortunately, it was already very full, so we all had to stand, but we made it! By 10:20 we were back for one final night here at the Yacht Club.

Day 14 - Part 1 - What Happened to World of Disney?

Our final night at the Yacht Club was over and we were up at about 8:30 to finish our packing process. We got our bags down to Resort Airline Check in at about 9:45. It took about 10 minutes to get everything done and our bags were checked! We ran back to the room to get our carry on bags and I stopped on the way and picked up my souvenir for the Yacht Club stay:

This store wasn’t very big, but I liked some of the stuff and thought the selection was a little different and more varied than some other stores on property.

We grabbed our carry on bags and headed down to leave them with bell services for the day. Saw this on the way:

We got to the bus stop and only had to wait about 10 minutes for a Disney Springs bus. That is pretty good as Disney Springs busses tend to have the longest waits sometimes.

We arrived at Disney Springs at about 10:35 ready to do a little shopping.

We went in that entrance as things appeared normal and this shirt was just inside the door:

That shirt was pretty cool with the coordinates of Disney World on it. But before long DW and I looked at each other and said, “What happened to World of Disney”. There were walls everywhere, that I didn’t take pictures of since I was so shocked, and the store was only about 25% of the size it used to be. I had known they were doing some renovations and stuff, but I didn’t know it was this much closed off. I had been looking for a shirt or something for this trip and there wasn’t hardly any clothing in here.

So, we headed out empty handed as they didn’t have any of the stuff we were waiting on. We found one of the other entrances:

With no luck at World of Disney we stopped in Basin and looked at some stuff. Ok, who are we kidding...we just wanted to smell those divine smells for a few minutes.

Ummm...I think DS6 thought these were candy bars!

We then made our way into our favorite shop, the Marketplace Co-Op. These Be Our Guest dishes were pretty cool:

DS6 wanted this Darth Vader suitcase:

I looked a bit at the phone covers. I always thought these would be pretty cool, but I had a belt clip at the time and none of them are ever compatable with belt clips, so I passed.

We headed across into another spot and DS6 found a shirt he loved:

So, that was what he would end up choosing as his souvenir clothing item. He loved it and wanted us to take his shirt off right then so he could wear it home. Well, we can’t do that right here in the store son, but you can put it on as soon as we buy it! Haha

Up Next: it was about 11:15 and we were getting hungry as we didn’t really have any breakfast earlier. Where would we go? We are typically an Earl of Sandwich family, but we chose something different:

He was so happy about this shirt. We almost couldn't get him out of the store without putting it on! DW and I loved the stormtrooper shirt. DS6 wasn't quite as impressed...I don't think it was flashy enough for him!

Day 14 - Part 2 - “Oh Wow, That’s a Good Burger!”

Like I said we have always loved Earl of Sandwich, and still do, but DW had taken a work trip down for a conference in January and they ate a D-Luxe Burger and she had been talking about how good it was. So, that was where we were headed.

I forgot to say we stopped in Goofy’s Candy Company at some point during the last update and DS6 got him some jelly beans.

By 11:35 we were seated inside here and the line wasn’t too long so we just ordered at a register. They also have mobile order, but they weren’t super crowded here before noon.

It was a little difficult finding an indoor seat even though it wasn’t very crowded as there is just not much indoor seating here. They do have a nice big covered patio with a lot of tables, but it was just so hot out that we didn’t think we’d enjoy our food too much with it being so hot, so we found this inside:

One of the cool things about this place was the wide selection of dipping sauces. It was the last day of our trip and I didn’t do a great job of taking notes on the different sauces, but I do know I liked the Buffalo Ranch and Garlic Herb Ranch sauces with the fries.

We got settled in with our sauces and waited for our meal.

DW just got a classic burger and she loved it. She doesn’t like burger with a lot of fancy stuff on them so this was perfect for her and I think this is definitely a place she will want to come back to.

Here were the fries and they were great. You could tell they were cooked fresh and the quality was also very good.

I got the Southern Burger - signature blend beef patty, topped with fried-green tomato, pimento cheese, lettuce, grilled onions and bacon. I subbed the pimento cheese for just regular cheddar cheese as I’m not a pimento fan. I also put some of the chipotle mayo on it and it was awesome! I looked at DW after one bit and said, “You were right about this place!”

The fried green tomato on the burger was really a great addition and took the entire sandwich up a notch. I would absolutely order this again! DS2 just ate some of the french fries off of our meals and a little bit of his brother’s sandwich. DS6 got a grilled chicken sandwich...he loves burgers now, but back when this trip happened he wasn’t much of a burger eater. He ate all of the chicken sandwich though and enjoyed it!

We finished up at about 12:10 and I did snap a quick photo of the patio here:

Sadly it was time to head back to the resort to catch our Magical Express bus. We got to the bus stop to leave Disney Springs at 12:25, but had to wait until 12:55 for a bus! It’s a good thing we left plenty of time to spare. We were a little worried for a while as our magical express time was 2:00, but thankfully one came. That’s just par for the course for Disney Springs busses in our experience though.

We were back here by 1:15. I ran over to the Beach Club real quick because I wanted a DVC shirt and hat and DW wanted a DVC mug for her office. While I was gone the boys took some final photos from the “bridge” of the Yacht Club lobby.

We are really going to miss this place:

Yes, we love some of the food options there for sure, especially some of the new ones like D-Luxe.

Day 14 - Part 3 - The Long Journey Home

Well, I’ve made it to the end of another trip report. It’s going to be sad to post this final update because everything that we have planned for this coming summer at Disney World is still up in the air with all that is going on in the world right now. We are holding out hope that things settle down at some point, but currently Disney is closed through at least the end of April. So, we’ll see.

With that said though I will finish up this trip report as it was time for our journey home. It was that time that no one enjoys...taking the Magical Express back to the airport. DW and DS2 were sad to be leaving...well, DS2 probably just wanted a snack or something, but we got a sad face anyway!

Our bus showed up right on time at 2:15 and it was actually our first time on a cruise line bus...that I forgot to take a picture of! Anyway, we got onboard and were off. We took this picture as we were leaving the Yacht Club:

And before we had even arrived to pick up more people at the Beach Club this had happened:

It was an easy ride and we were at the airport by 3:00. DS6 wanted his picture with the astronaut before we shopped a bit.

We ended up in the Disney Store, of course, and this coffee mug was here and I loved it. I ended up grabbing it to take to my office. It’s always a good day at school when I get to drink out of this.

DS2 was sporting his new shirt from Animal Kingdom today as was DS6 with his new Star Wars shirt.

As I was checking out with the mug DS6 saw this small lightsaber keychain in the gift shop and wanted it. It was only like $4.50 or something so I went ahead and got it for him as he wanted it to match his new shirt!

Our flight was at 5:20 that day, so we got to the security area at 3:25 and we got through and were at our gate by 3:45. It was seriously the easiest MCO security experience ever! So we settled in with about an hour to go before boarding.

Finally we boarded at 4:50 and our flight left right on time at 5:20.

We landed at Houston-Hobby at 6:45 and got some dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings there in the terminal. We had some time to kill as our flight back to OKC wasn’t until 9:30. We found an uncrowded gate area and let the boys run around. Now, someone explain to me why I didn’t think at the time to get a picture of DS2 with that Southwest vehicle behind him where I could see DS2’s new “I’m Just Here for the Snacks” shirt! That would have been a great picture!

We boarded our second flight and were off by 9:30. And...once again this happened pretty quickly:

After a long journey home we landed back in OKC at 10:50 and by the time I went to grab the truck, get the bags, and drive home it was about midnight.

It was a great trip and our first stay at the Yacht Club was awesome! I’ll leave you with a final collage of DW’s.

Thanks for sticking with me for a long time in reliving this trip. I had planned on starting a PTR for our upcoming summer trip when finishing this. I probably will do that because it will be quite interesting with all of this stuff going on that is related to the virus we speak the name of here.
