Hi,

I get i think 6 hours free limo useage included in my Escapes wedding package. I'm not too keen on using it for the wedding so have wondered if anyone else has used it for another day trip? I was thinking of maybe using it to pick me up from the airport and then getting the driver to wait until we had checked in and then getting him to take us to downtown disney.

Along the same topic...Has anyone walked to the Wedding Pavilion and do you know how long it takes to walk?

Thanks:)

You get four hours of limo service included in the package. Several years ago a bride reported being able to use the limo service later in their stay to take them to the airport, but I'm not sure Disney allows this anymore. Hopefully an Escape bride will come along and fill us in.

I'd say the walk from the Grand Floridian to the Wedding Pavilion takes 5-7 minutes... but then I am a fast walker! ;)

I used my limo service two days after my wedding...we used it to take us to DTD for shopping!!

I have heard of people using it for the trip to or from the airport.

Talk to your planner, I'm sure they can work something out for you.

hiwaygirl what did you do for your wedding day? Did you feel like you where missing anything by not having the limo for it?

My contract says that i get 6 hours. Theres no way i'm going to use all of that :rotfl:

My DH really wanted to walk over from the GF to the WP. We were staying there, he was getting ready there on his own, while his family got ready at CS and I was with my family off site getting ready. I really wanted him to get picked up as the limo was on route to the WP with his family from CS, but he didn't want all the fuss and wanted to walk. Tanis also recommended he not walk as it's a lot longer than it looks when you're all dressed up.

Well, DH insisted right up until the night before that he would in fact be walking. I had the limo scheduled to stop there and pick him up, and just told him and his family to tell the limo driver he'd just meet them at the WP. Well, that day after he walked from our building to the lobby, he decided to head out front and wait for the limo. Of course his family didn't tell the guy to go the WP, so everyone was where they were scheduled to be. He said it was too hot to walk any distance with a tux on (it was a very pleasant day out temp wise) and that after walking that far he really wasn't up for walking any further in rented shoes! :lmao:

One other note, it was a lot of fun to take the limo back to the GF after the ceremony. The cute greeter came running up to our car to congratulate us, as did everyone else out front of the GF, and everyone on our walk in! :thumbsup2

Well...we were staying at the Boardwalk and we were married at Sea Breeze Point so the walking wasn't really an issue for us and of course we didn't have to worry about transporting anyone else. After our ceremony we spent a few minutes in our room, then in the concierge lounge (made the CM's have some wedding cake with us) then walked over to DHS/MGM. Later that night we just used the Disney transportation to get to California Grill.

We really didn't want or need the limo. We figured we would use it on our last night to take us to DTD so if we bought a bunch of stuff, we wouldn't have to carry it back on a bus. As it was, we didn't buy much and the limo driver got paid for four hours even though he only drove about 30 minutes!!!:rotfl:

Thank-you all for your imput. I appreciate it. I think i will ring my planner and ask if i can use it to pick us up from the airport. It's going be well cool to see everyone looking at us being picked up in a limo. Especially if i can get some Disney Bride ears in the UK and where them through the airport :rotfl2:

Let us know what your planner says - it would be cool if you could do that! :thumbsup2

I was kinda pressured by my planner to use the limo for the wedding. She wanted to know where all my peeps were staying so they could figure out how early to start picking up people. I said they are on their own to get to SBP and we planned to walk. Well she was having none of that. I managed to get her to let's just TBA it. I want to use the Limo to bring us to the Luau on the night after our VR.

We were married at WL and staying at WL so no need for a limo there! We used our limo hours the night after the wedding to take us to dinner at EPCOT and then from EPCOT to PI. We didn't have enough hours to go back from PI to WL in the limo, so we took the bus back to WL :)

I'm just wondering, will the limo pick people up from off property?

My girls and I will be getting ready in my room at POFQ but the boys will be at my mum and dad's villa offsite, as they will have the boisterous kids and can keep them entertained with lots of space, private pool etc!

They are hopefully going to be staying at those really nice ones, about 5 minutes away from Disney (can't remember the name of them now  )

Ok so i just got an email back from my Escapes wedding planner and i need to vent....
My wedding planner said i can only use it for the wedding as i'm having it at the Wedding pavilion. Surely i should be allowed to use it at an alternative time. I don't even want my full time allowance.

I have to say this is not the only time my wedding planner has been unhelpful. When i asked about where would be best to have a reception for a small group and how i go about booking it she told be to just look at the Disney restaurant finder :sad1:

Sorry for the rant ladies. Did anyone else have this difficulty using their limo for elsewhere? Are Disney real strick about how many people are in the limo. I have 8 adults and 1 child?

That is really weird. When I had my first planning session with my wedding planner she said that it was totally fine to use the limo on another day after the wedding and she suggested going to Downtown Disney for a dinner or something. I am having my wedding at the WP as well and staying at the GF. We have decided now to use the limo on the wedding day to pick up some of our guests. I can't believe they told you no and me yes!

I just looked it up in our Wedding worksheet and this is what it says, "A four (4) consecutive hour limousine charter has been included in your Escape Wedding pricing. In the event that you are staying at the same resort that your wedding is taking place, or if you would like to use one of our special transportation options for your wedding day, please indicate another time during your stay for your charter. (8 passenger maximum seating and multiple trips can be made)"

What does your wedding worksheet say?

My worksheet also said this. They said i have to use it which is a pain. I might fight it and see if i can get it changed. They have changed my wedding planner so she maybe a bit more helpful. How are you going to use your 4 hours of limo? I couldn't figure out how to spend the full 4 hours of limo time for my wedding and thought it was a waste as we where staying at GF. I'd love to see how you where timing everything

We just decided to use it for our guests. They are all coming from the CB...I just have to make sure with our wedding planner that 4 pickups is ok! Let's hope! Here is the schedule I want for our 10 a.m. wedding:

8:45 a.m. pick up guests from CB to take them to WP.
9:15 a.m. pick me up from the GF to take me to the WP (I have heard that this is a long walk in a wedding dress so I figured I would take advantage of the limo)
When the wedding is over...
11:45 pick up guests at WP and take them back to Caribbean Beach
12:15 pick up me and DF at GF and take us to Epcot for our lunch reception!

That's my general plan and it is all within the 4 hours. Our intimate wedding is only 11 guests (even though 3 won't fit in the limo :headache: ), and I didn't want everyone to have to take cabs there and back.

You should definitely be able to get that changed. Especially since it says that in your wedding worksheet. I would definitely fight that if you feel like you aren't going to use the limo on your wedding day.

Does anyone know if you're staying at the Boardwalk and are going to SBP, can you use the limo, or do you have to walk it?

If you are staying at the Boardwalk and having your ceremony at SBP you pretty much have to walk it (unless you are having the carriage). It's not a very far walk and there's just no way for a vehicle to get down there.

I had my phone conversation with my wedding planner the other day. DF managed to persuade the wedding planner to let us use the limo for our airport trip. So we going to use it to pick us up then take us to check-in. After weve checked in and got changed were going to take it to the mall and then after to DTD, so were going to get as much use out of the 6 hours as possible.

The wedding planner seemed really reluctant about changing it. She kept asking how we were getting to the WP and back again and then going on about the weather. But both our parents will have cars so it shouldn't be an issue for them to transport us.

Result:thumbsup2

Yes, I got ready at my parents' timeshare offsite and the limo came and picked us up there, so it's possible. I do think it depends on how far it is though, as that was one of the first questions Tanis asked when I said I wanted to do this. This may be another one of those non standard things, but it is at least possible.

Yes, you can do this. Doesn't matter how many trips (you might need 6 total to get everyone around being over your limo seating) as long as you're totally done in the 4 hours. Your planner will help you with the timeline when you get closer to your wedding - I think we did mine about 6 weeks out.

Oh, the limo will also shuttle everyone over to the GF for your cake cutting after the ceremony. You'll get tons of use out of it. My one tip? Tell everyone to grab a drink out of the limo for the cake cutting, that way you don't have to order extra!
