I have tried numerous times since vmk began to get to play. My husband has been downloading some upgrades and such, but it's still not working. We get in and then, before we even do anything, it says Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and has to close and when we click on the explanation, it gives an error of IML32DLL.

Does anyone happen to know what this means? I'd love to be able to play.

found this on a forum. hope it helps:

i have come across this problem a few times, this worked for me, and it is the only solution i have seen posted that others have mentioned working, some say it didnt or they dont have the correct path to alter. anyway it's worth a look and try.

Right click My Computer. Click properties. Choose the advanced tab. click environment variables. if you have a system variable called "NLSPATH" you need to delete it or rename it (select the variable, click edit, and change the name). Note that this might mess up what put NLSPATH there in the first place.

that is a shockwave file - go to www.adobe.com and try reinstalling both flash and shockwave, if that does not work, you will need to follow Adobe's instructions for removing both, and then reinstall from scratch

Thanks. He is trying that, now. He has deleted shockwave and reinstalled several times.

Oh well, he finds nothing on his computer called NSLPATH.

Thanks for trying, both of you. I know it won't work from my computer (I'm on a Mac), but why it won't work on his, I have no idea. It's not that old or anything.

remember, that's a environment variable, not a file. you have to check the variables.

Yes, he followed the instructions and scrolled up and down, looking for it, but it wasn't there.

Thanks again.

Then I would say it is probably an issue with the browser where shockwave will not properly install. If your PC can handle it and you have a legitimate version of windows, try installing IE7 - if he already has IE7, try going BACK to IE6

Use Firefox. Search for it on google. It' by Mozilla, it hasn't given me any problems on my friends computer when I use it for VMK.

And I too am on a Mac, and VMK does work, but adobe hasn't patched over yet for the latest version to run as smoothly. You have to have Safari on in Rosetta mode. Ctrl+Click the application Safari and look at it's preference, there should be a little check box that says 'Run in Rosetta', after that you can download adobe if needed, and then you can run VMK.

Hope that helped as well :)

I'm not finding Rosetta Mode in the Safari help. I ctrl/clicked on icon, but see nothing in preferences about rosetta. I'm running 2.0. Maybe there is an update?

I'll go look.

I agree. Mozilla Firefox is much better for VMK than IE. :wizard:

The first time you sign into VMK with Firefox, it will direct you to download the Shockwave for Firefox use. It may work for you.
