My 8 YO fell in love with Ernie, the black horse pulling the cart one day... and I think the feelings were mutual. The poor guy had a blank faraway look until he caught my daughter in his blinders and then nudged her mouse ears, rubbed her hair and basically muzzled her until the CM driver told us to bugger off, nicely of course ;) . Ernie had a little love fest! We talked about it all day, and for days afterwards. It was special as we have horses and my daughter was just starting to get a little homesick about that time. Now my question: I'm scrapbooking and have two fab pic's of them together but would love "something else". I did an internet search for info or pix but came up without much of anything. Does anyone have any good ideas for me? I'd love to find a page with a blurb of history or individual horse info... Ernie was a genuine sweetheart... and quite the rebel when given the chance! We loved him!

Thanks in advance.

We had a similar experience with Red yesterday. Did you get a photo of Ernie's name tag? You could trim that and use it like an embellishment. Your comment about your DD missing her own horse and finding Ernie was touching - would make a nice journal entry.
I found this blurb about the horses, but I can't comment on it's truthfulness. http://ratcage.com/disneyland-articles/disneyland-magic/everyones-a-critic.html

I am always partial to Chief. He's pure black and a real beauty. I haven't seen him the last few trips.

I didnt get a pic of his name badge, darn it. I managed to piece some info together... thanks for that link, btw.

I will always visit the horses from now on. :)

I love the horses!

My sister and Mom found out that when the horses are retired that the drivers get first chance to buy them. The horses are very, very spoiled, they are worked on rotations so they don't work too hard and are very well taken care of. They are so beautiful.
