Players:
Erin (31)- loves all things Disney
Robert (33)- loves Disney, but especially thrill rides
Courtney (7)-spitfire, but cute as can be
Nicholas (14 months)- sweet, angelic little boy (mostly anyway)
Our last trip was in August 2001. We had a trip planned (were going to rent points for VWL) in October 2002, but found out just after renting points that I was pregnant and due (you guessed it) in October 2002. We postponed the trip, but were excited to add an addition to the family.
Fast forward: after many changes in ressies, I finally decided on a split with 3 days at AKL (savannah) and 4 days at WL in December 2003.
We left our house at 7:30 Friday morning (December 5). We had planned on leaving at 6:00 am, but are always late for everything. We had just gotten a new car (well, new to us.....2000 4Runner) and were excited about our 1000-mile trek to WDW. Okay, I was excited about the road trip (the rest of the family tolerates road trips). We had a DVD in a bag and plenty of movies for the kids to watch along the way. (I am still trying to get the Veggie Tales songs out of my head a month later). Trip was mostly uneventful. We stayed at a Ramada in Tallahassee- our usual place to stop since it is a decent hotel and is more than half-way to WDW so that we can get there in the early afternoon the next day.
We left Tallahassee about 8:30 am and we thought we would get to AKL about 1:30 pm. WRONG!!! We thought it would be quicker (plus no tolls) if we took a short cut. Our short cut added on like an hour since we ended up driving through town after town with a red light, I kid you not, like every few feet!!!
Note to self: next time stay on interstates.
Coming up....
We finally arrive at AKL and head to Epcot.
