Ok, so get my reassurance from dealership mechanic and best friend......so we decide to hit the road Saturday. Orginal plan was to leave at noon, but thanks for my hour of excitement at the dealership, we of course are now running behind.
We head North on I-95 for our 3 hour drive to "The World" around 1 p.m.
Get about 15 minutes up the road and traffic comes to a crawl..............
So we spend the next 30 minutes just trying to get through North Palm Beach. FINALLY-we hit clear road. We cut off of I-95 in Jupiter and hit the Turnpike!
Of course, DS9 HAS to stop at the first Toll Plaza. Ok, ok, but after this I am finishing up the other 120 miles with no stopping (my kids hate traveling with me-I am a non-stopper-except in HAVE to situations). Send the boys in together while I wait at the car. Upon their return I high tail it into the ladies room (better to be safe than sorry-plus, couldn't face those boys if I was the one who had to stop up the road).
Get in the car, head out onto the Turnpike, and that HORRID orange light (Check engine) greets me one more time (I saw more of this light in a week and a half than I did my ex husbands
). But car is running great, and I just kept thinking what the mechanic and BF said-GO, go, go.
We finally get to our exit!! YEAH!!! And then onto AS Movies, arrive about 5 p.m..
We get in the check in queue, get right up to the desk. Check in took a bit of time due to 2 rooms, and they were trying to find us smoking rooms. But all went smooth and get our keys, map, and little "welcome" package. We unload the car, and DS9 starts with "I want to go to DTD". The first night was suppose to be relax at the hotel and be ready for our first official day at the parks.
Of course, I broke down, and call the older boys. "Sure, we'd love to go to DTD!". We still had to get 3 of the 4 Florida Premium Annual passes anyway, so what the heck. We grab a bus, for I am a bit nervous taking the car at this point. Only 2 other folks on the bus-great seats!
Now, we have never been to DTD, and we all were in such awe. Get our passes and DS9 is ready to hit Disney Quest (of course, I talked it up big, cause he was wanting to bring the game system from home-NO WAY!!). The boys had a blast, and I must admit, I did too. I have always loved video games, so this was a big thrill for me as well. We spend a good 3 hours there and me being the "Evil Queen" say it's time to head back.
OF course, the bus is packed, but that's ok. We are feeling fine....our car got us there and we are at "The World".
Once back at the resort, I am thinking "Rest, finally. A good night's sleep". Oh no, we had to go explore the resort and hit the pool. I cave yet AGAIN, 1 hour of pool time, that's it! I got my way (sure I did) with the time limit, try an hour and a half.
We get back to the room, shower, lay out clothes for next day. Fix up my "first aid" kit to carry in the backpack.
Great Mom forgets about dinner!! Thank goodness for the older boys, they made several sandwiches to snack on for the trip up. They are still nice and cool from being in their cooler. Dinner is served.
We talk about our plans for the next day, and the excitement gets to us. None of us can fall asleep until after 2 a.m. Informed the older boys I want to meet out at the buses at 8:30 a.m. to head to Epcot.
But can we meet the planned time? Tune in next time.
