Comcast's Ceo just announced that Epic Universe Construction will be resuming, based on improving numbers and outlook on the Covid/Vaccine situation. This is great news.

Message to Team members from Tom Williams, the CEO of Universal Parks and Resorts:

Dear Team Members,
I hope you and your families are healthy and well. Because of your great work, we already have much to look forward to this year. There is Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan, the Jurassic World: Velocicoaster at Universal Orlando, the opening of Universal Beijing Resort – and the opportunity to reopen Universal Studios Hollywood.
Today, I’m happy to share that we’re resuming work on our new Orlando theme park, Universal’s Epic Universe. As you know, the project had been paused while we focused on managing our business through the pandemic. The restart will begin immediately – but will take several months before reaching full-speed as we re-staff and reassemble our vendor and contractor teams.
The vision for Epic Universe is historic. It will be the most immersive and innovative theme park we have ever created and will feature a new theme park, an entertainment center, hotels, shops and restaurants. It will be located on a separate 750-acre site just a few minutes away from Universal Orlando.
All of this is great news for our business, our communities – and each of you. And none of it would be possible without the heroic and great work you have done over the past year. Because of you, our confidence in the future has never been stronger.Thank you, and please stay safe.

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 3, 2021) – Work is resuming on Universal Orlando Resort’s Epic Universe – the widely anticipated theme park that will create an entirely new level of theme park entertainment.

Work on Epic Universe paused in July 2020, as the company adjusted plans in the midst of the pandemic. The restart will begin immediately – but is expected to take several months before reaching full-speed as Universal re-staffs for the project and reassembles its vendor and contractor teams.

Restarting Epic Universe will result in hundreds of jobs within Universal and thousands of jobs across Central Florida. These positions include highly skilled professional positions, all levels of construction jobs and beyond.

The Epic Universe project will infuse billions of dollars into the Florida economy – and also create more than 14,000 permanent jobs in addition to the thousands of jobs that will be created during its development.

“The restart of construction of Epic Universe is a terrific moment for our employees and for our theme park business in Florida,” said Brian L. Roberts, Chairman and CEO of Comcast Corporation. “It is our single-largest investment in the state and represents our enthusiasm for the spectacular park and the economic opportunities it will generate.”

“We are excited to begin work on Epic Universe again and for what this moment means for our industry, our community, our business and our team members,” said Tom Williams, Chairman and CEO for Universal Parks & Resorts. “Our confidence in our collective future is as strong as ever.”

“The resumption of the Epic Universe project couldn’t come at a better time,” said Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings. “Our community has so many talented workers who will benefit from this massive project. I am confident it will deliver a huge economic boost to Orange County.”

Epic Universe will feature a new theme park, an entertainment center, hotels, shops, restaurants and more. It will be located on a 750-acre site that nearly doubles Universal’s total available acreage in Central Florida. It will be located a few miles from Universal Orlando’s current theme parks in Southwest Orange County – specifically, south of Sand Lake Road and east of Universal Boulevard.

“Our vision for Epic Universe is historic,” Mr. Williams said at the time the project was announced. “It will build on everything we have done and become the most immersive and innovative theme park we have ever created.”

Oh fun! I'm still hoping to take the kiddos to Universal Japan for Super Nintendo World, but it would be so awesome if it lands stateside by 2025.

You also need to consider that the Donkey Kong land is expected to also be part of Super Nintendo World in Orlando when it opens. Japan has that planned as an eventual expansion but it's not known when that might be (although 4 years is a long time so Japan very well could get that expansion by then too).

I bet they will eventually do an area for it. There have been rumors of the Lost Continent in IoA getting re-themed to Zelda and it would fit really well. It's one of their most popular series so I'm sure it's in the cards down the line. I could see them add in random other IPs elsewhere but keep the similar cartoon-y style ones together adding onto the new land. For instance Kirby or a Luigi's Mansion ride (One I'd love to see).
Don't see them getting their own mini=lands but if there was a space themed area somewhere I would love to see Metroid and maybe Star Fox added in too.
