Epic Mickey Help

So I got Epic Mickey for Christmas and I can't figure out how I need to open a set of doors. I missed what Gus said when I entered the room.

I went through where all the boats and hippos are and now I am in a room that has 3 steam valves and this round thing that you jump on that stops the steam for 10 seconds. Then there are some platforms and a set of doors. How the heck do I get the set of doors to open. I am assuming it has something to do with the valves.

If I am thinking of the right place in the game (because I got it too!) you need to step on the platform and then RUN! Shake your wiimote and turn the first valve then RUN and jump and turn the next and then RUN and jump and turn the next. You have to turn all three in that 10 seconds, then the doors will open. If you don't make it to all three in 10 seconds, you just have to keep doing it until you get it. It took me maybe 5 tries. Good luck!

Isn't it so addictive? I got it for Christmas too. I actually am starting over, and because I went out and bought the strategy guide, and noticed I missed a ton of stuf in the one area with the tea cups. I am such a dork. Oh well.

That part took me awhile too, you really have to just be lucky with your jumps, and do it as fast as possible. It gets annoying, but I finally got through it. Of course now I'm stuck in a battle I can't seem to win.

take some time to practice jumping (on/off a platform/ledge if one is available).... as gus advises, you can hit the A button twice to jump higher/further.... what he doesn't tell you is when to hit it the second time (that takes a bit of timing on your part)..... basically you want to hit A the second time when you are at the peak of your first jump to get the maximum boost.

if you get the jump timing right, that steam/valve room you are in (should have the three wheels to crank in 10 seconds) becomes pretty easy

I'm stuck in the European section of Small World near the Eiffel Tower.

I think I need to jump from one spinning platform to the other but the timing is all wrong. Tried for over 30 minutes this afternoon and finally gave up...for now.

Any insights?

I just poured over my game guide for the part with the tower but could not find any spinning platforms. Is it another part ?

I finally got it after I think felt like 100 tries. I am really not fairing very well at Epic Mickey. Poor Mickey has bit the dust quite a bit.

Heehee! Don't worry, my poor Mickey has bitten the dust plenty of times as well! I'm not really a video gamer so I know it drives my gamer hubby NUTS to watch me play! LOL!

I'm stuck in the same area! I haven't tried it yet but I'm thinking about using the thinner to stopped the platforms so I can jump to and from them.

You have to use the thinner on the wheels to stop the platforms and then jump on them. Then you jump from them to the white platforms, then you jump to the platform for the tower.

I'm now stuck in the colsieum because I apparently ticked Pete off for giving the ship log to the Gremlins.

We had the same problem and just kept fighting the enemies until Pete finally gave up. Use thinner to make a pit for you to knock them into. We weren't able to get the pin but were able to move onto the next portal. Not sure if this was right but we were stuck.

I highly recommend it. It can be very fustrating, but fun! (and I am not a gamer at all)

I gave the log to the Gremlins though, and Pete didn't attack me, he opened a room with a treasure chest for me.

Eh, no need. Scroll through the game forums. I like gamefaqs. Now they have a message board but soon someone is going to put up a "Walkthrough" which is basically a step by step guide.
