So looking at the photos made me google sauerbraten, and wiki told me that it can be made with a variety of meats and that horse is the traditional meat for the dish.

Any idea what meat is used in this traditional German pot roast being served in Epcot?

I know world showcase does not open until 11:00 am. Is that the time the food kiosks open as well?

They are supposed to open at 11 but they are opening closer to noon

My bet is pork. That's the most common meat used for it in my experience as the DW of a German DH...

Oh my gosh..we have never been during the Christmas holidays. We will be at Epcot tomorrow night and I am just reading all of this information. I thought I was prepared boy was I wrong. Skipping the room and heading straight to the park to get my passport and get started. Thanks so much for all of the info.

I've been going to WDW for over 30 years, at least every other year and in the past 5 years twice a year and thought I was a pro. I've never been during Christmas Holidays though and boy I feel like a newbie. I'll be there with my grown son the 19th through the 23rd, which sounded like plenty of time for a last minute quick trip (we just decided last week to go) but now I think even if we were going for 7 days, which is our normal F&G and F&W time frame it wouldn't be enough. During F&G we rarely eat anywhere except food booths at Epcot and I was thinking we would actually make a couple of TS ADRs for places like Flying Fish and Tiffins this trip since nothing would be going on at Epcot. Boy was I wrong. I know we will be at Epcot every day now, thankfully we are staying at the dolphin so that will make park hopping easier.

Do the food booths run through December 30th? That is our Epcot day. Wondered if they would close up then or remain open through New Year's weekend. Thanks!

I think they are only open until the 30th, because the 31st they have NYE stuff.

Contemplating driving over for NYE (one night stay) and spending the whole day at Epcot. No ADRs. I just want to nibble all day long and try snacks etc I never get ... due to ADRs. Is there a special page in your book of mystery about any extras on NYE?

I doubt the kiosks will be there at all, they pretty much clear any and all unnecessary clutter to leave room for people

We ate breakfast at Sunshine Seasons in the Land pavilion last week. Also, i can't remember if it was France or Norway that had a ham and cheese croissant that could be used as a snack credit.

Les Halles in France has an excellent selection for all day. Kringla in Norway is now open for breakfast. They have school bread and other cold items, some with eggs and/or smoked salmon.
