Epcot World Showcase - worth it for young kids?

My daughter (and my) favorite park is Epcot. We usually sightsee World Showcase around a meal.

EPCOT is one of our favorite parks and our kids all boys, 7,5,4:dance3: love it. They like seeing different things and they really enjoyed doing the Kidcot activities. We hate it when all the shows describe EPCOT as an adult park. I think many people are shorting their kids on a great place simply because it doesn't have a roller coaster.

My dd loved World Showcase at 5.5. She liked seeing the different styles of houses, dancing to music, watching performers, seeing characters, color at kidcot, try some foods etc. The one thing she refuses to every do again is the ride in Norway. We are going back again in January and she has asked to eat at Biergarten again because she loved the music/dancing.

Don't forget Maelstrom! My 6 y/o son has been riding it for 3 years and loves it! It is a viking ship ride in Norway, I just happen to really like it as well!;)

It kind of irritates me that adults just 'write off' EPCOT when they have kids with them... The World Showcase was always my favorite place to go in ALL of Disney World when I was little! It still is actually... There is a lot there and it can be a 'hidden' educational tool also. I know I learned a lot out there and never knew I was getting educated at 4 and 5 years old, I just thought the stuff was cool! I'd say give it a try and encourage your kids to have fun doing something in each pavillion... if they don't have fun, well, then you'll know for next time!

Epcot is our favorite park. DS has loved it since the age of 3.5. In World Showcase, there are performers and things the kids like, and the kidcot activities are fun too. We still have all the masks that DS has made.

We take a nap as well in the afternoon, but the nice part about epcot is that is always open until at least 9pm. You can go back in and have a nice evening there, and eat at one of the many good restaurants. The night time show, reflections of earth, is a definate must see!

My son and his cousins (then 4, 4, 5 & 7) loved getting the pressed pennies in each of the countries. They each spent some time at the kidcot stops. My son is not one to sit and color but he did like to see his name written in Chinese. My bigger kid (DH) loved buying candy from each country and he got my DS to follow along. Beware of that sugar high though.
