Epcot to MK, Epcot to DTD & Boat & Monorail times

Hi I have been reading around and think I have the a good route down. Let me know if there is a better route.

We will be staying off property in Octover and will be going to MK one day of our stay. We will arrive from off property resort at TTC at Epcot. From there we previously took the monorail then the boat to MK. This year I am trying to make rope drop, but not sure this is the fastest. I think we can take the Monorail from Epcot to MK? Do we get off the monorail and back on to MK?

Also what resort buses will provide fastest transportation from Epcot to DTD? I think we used Pop Century last year?

What times do the boat & monorail run after park hours? And what is the route of the monorial back to Epcot?

I'm confused. The TTC is at MK, not at Epcot. If you want to go to MK for the say, you should just go to the TTC there and then either monorail or ferry directly to MK. There is no need to go to Epcot.
To get to DTD from MK, just walk over to the CR and take the bus to DTD from there.
The boats and monorail run for about an hour after park closing.

Yes, many off-site resorts drop off at Epcot, not the TTC.

The monorail should be the best route to the MK. The Epcot monorail only goes to the TTC, where you will need to get off and join the queue for the Express Monorail to the MK.

An alternative would be a bus from Epcot to Port Orleans Resort French Quarter, and getting a bus from there to MK. I think this should take about 45 minutes; the monorail route might be a few minutes less if the queue at TTC is not too long.

Port Orleans French Quarter is also a good choice for transferring from Epcot to DTD.

Okey-dokey...that makes more sense to me now. As already noted....you take the monorail from Epcot to the TTC by MK. There, you can either transfer to the Express monorail that goes directly to the MK, the resort monorail that stops at the Polynesian, GF, MK, CR and back to the TTC, or the ferry that runs between TTC and MK.

If you are going from EPCOT to MK,I suggest taking a monorail (from the monorail station at EPCOT) to the TTC,then getting off and taking the Ferry Boat to the Entrance of Magic Kingdom.This way,you dont have to get off another monorail,and then wait for another monorail to come,and get to MK (You could be on a ride by the time the monorail will get there!)

• Take a bus to one of the EPCOT resort hotels,which are as follows: Swan and Dolphin,Yacht and Beach Club (Beach Club Villas) or Disney's Boardwalk and then just walk to EPCOT or take the Friendship boat (Though the Friendship boat stops running at 11pm each night,but it also stops at all of the EPCOT resort hotels,so it is faster to walk there.).

Takiing the ferry is seldom quicker than the Express monorail. Yes, you have to get off and get on another monorail. But, if the ferry is just leaving, or isn't in sight, you may have a longish wait. The Express monorail runs pretty frequently..they usually have two of them running at the same time.

And taking a bus to one of the Epcot resorts from MK isn't a huge time saver either. Why??? First you have to wait for the bus to come. THen the ride to the resorts, and that bus is going to make at least three stops...unless you take the YC/BC bus which makes two stops...or worse yet, the bus will stop at all five of the resorts. THen, you have to trek through the hotel, over to the International Gateway, through the entire park, and to the parking lot..which means a park pass, which may not be in hand. Not to mention the, at the minimun, an hour from MK to the Epcot parking lot...probably more like 70-80 mins.

It's really easiest to just get on the monorail..if it's up and running. If it isn't, I would take the bus to Pop and then transfer to the Epcot bus from there.

Even if the line for the Express Monorail looks long it's really not that bad, because the line moves very fast once guests start to get on. So worst case scenario you might need to wait for one more Express Monorail to arrive before getting on.

Yeah, about the discussion about the Monorail vs. Ferry Boats: if all is movin well and according to schedule, Express monorails should only run 3-5 minutes apart and take approx. 3-4 min to get to the MK from TTC. Ferry Boats run about 10 minutes apart and it takes a good 8-10 minutes to get to the Magic Kingdom. If the Ferry boat is right there and waiting for you, I would take the ferry boat more often but then they always seem to wait around for several minutes to depart while the monorail is only in the station about 2 minutes, tops! Also, when you see a line for the monorail, think about the fact that the official capacity onboard a train is 364 Guests (that's without strollers or wheelchairs). Therefore, the line does move quickly...unless there's a switch occurring or there is some other delay on the beam.

Thanks everyone! I guess once we get to the TTC we will scope out the monorail and ferry and see which looks like our best bet!
