Has anyone ever done the Scuba Dive Quest at EPCOT? The last time I was there it looked pretty cool. Is it worth the $180? I called to get more information, but the CM didn't have many answers. She said that it was a 3 hour experience and that the dive probably lasted 2 hours... which I know can not be possible... it could be 80 minutes if it's a 2 tank dive, but I seriously doubt Disney would offer that.

Either way, any feedback on the experience would be appreciated.

I did the DiveQuest a number of years ago, and by number it was probably 12 years ago. When I did it, it was actually almost 2 hours of being in the water, maybe 90-100 minutes of actually being submerged. I'm sure by now it is far less than that.
Some changes to it as of February 24 2017
- Offered Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at 4:30pm and 5:30pm.
- 3 hours in duration
- $179 per person (no theme park admission required.)

And if you care about "extras" the price includes a limited edition t-shirt that you can only receive from participating in Epcot DiveQuest as well refreshments, dive certificate, and a dive log stamp.

It could have been longer with less behind the scenes stuff and more diving time, but to me doing it just once was worth the money and back then it was $99.

I did this a couple of times years ago and I'd say we were in the water at least an hour. Probably longer. The max depth is ~25 feet IIRC so your bottom time can be pretty long. The extra time before is to get suited up and and a pre-dive briefing. Afterwards there's time to shower and get your certificate.

My family are all scuba divers and have done Dive Quest many times. The most recent was last year.

I was able to go "backstage" with DD during several of her dives since she was under 18.

The entire tour takes about 3 hours, but the actual dive time in the water is about 40-50min. If your tank runs out, you can get a new tank, but it takes from your dive time. DD had to do this once.

There is a lot of behind the scenes, which is cool. Some years, she got a string backpack bag but last year she got a t-shirt. You can buy a DVD of the dive, they do a great job of capturing each person and if you have family at the window. There was only water given, no other refreshments.

If you are a PADI certified diver, you can get a 10% discount when booking. Be prepared to show and ID and your certification card when you check in.

The family really liked the dive, seeing many animals in one area. The most fun part of them was the guest interaction. DD especially loved blowing bubbles for the kids, enjoying the diners at Coral Reef and enjoying the crowd.
