I have a 7:30 a.m. Chef Mickey's Breakfast scheduled on an Epcot day. It's just myself and DS4. How likely is it that we will make Epcot Rope Drop? Also, is RD very important if we don't make it?

My son is 38.5 inches right now, and our trip is scheduled for the end of August/beginning of September, so he may not make the height requirement for Soarin and Test Track.

Thanks!

1. It will be tight. Sometimes Epcot opens 15-30 minutes before the scheduled 9AM.
You won't make it by 8:30, at least (but that timing is rather rare.)

There is NO rope drop CEREMONY at Epcot, BTW. (They just open the tap-styles and guests
file in.)

2. If you are NOT specifically headed to Soarin' or Test Track, you won't be missing much if you arrive a some time after the park opens.
If you ARE specifically headed to Soarin' or Test Track, arriving before the park opens can be very beneficial.

1. Very, very, very unlikely. Even if you make it just as the park is opening, you will be at the back of a very large pack.
2. It's really a personal choice. For us, being there well before the park opens is much more important than breakfast. Other people disagree.

I would advise to FP+ either Test Track or Soarin and then rope drop the one you dont get FP+ for. Also get a FP+ for Epcot Character spot. If he can't do TT or Soarin there is really no reason to rope drop as everything else that offers FP+ should have minimal waits. On our trip last week we only used our FP+ on TT, Soarin and Character spot as everything else was 15 mins or less on standby throughout both days we visited.

I'm sure you already know, but Chef Mickey's would be a better fit on a MK day if you can switch it! Especially since you can meet Mickey and friends right inside the entrance to Epcot. But if you have your heart set on Chef Mickey, i would try to get to breakfast early and get on the list to be seated, maybe you will get in a few minutes early giving you the extra time to get to Epcot close to rope drop.

We have never ridden the Test Track ride at Epcot, in my planning I had assumed that my 4 year old daughter wouldn't be allowed on the ride, so thanks for throwing in that note about your son. I need to measure my dd but I think she's around 38", that gives her 6 months to catch the magical 40" mark!
