Epcot right now

I keep reading about what a mess Future World is right now - is there a place where I can see photos so I can get a sense of what we'll be dealing with in July? The World Showcase has always been our favorite part of Epcot - is any of that currently under construction? We usually spend at least half of our park days at Epcot but I'm wondering if that's a bad move with all of the construction going on now.

I'm not sure how beneficial this would be. As like any place at Disney, a location may be empty at one time and completely full a few minutes later. Things are constantly changing and, what is 'a mess' for one person is quite acceptable to someone else.

So many variables.

I am not aware of any construction currently taking place in World Showcase although there is still a large amount of construction taking place for the foreseeable future in Future World.

It's just hard to get around future world with the construction walls, once you're in an area it's not so bad. The land/seas/imagination area are fine...as is the mission space/test track side...it's trying to go between them or TO them that is difficult. The construction walls are around the whole middle section where the innoventions buildings were, there is no middle to cut through. You have to decide left or right when you get to spaceship earth...left is test track, right is soarin', etc. The country area is fine.

We still enjoyed our 2 days at Epcot in April. We came in international gateway, so we really only had to deal with the worst of the construction walls when we went to spaceship earth...and exited in a torrential downpour...it's a long long way around construction walls to the seas in the pouring rain.

The construction at the main entrance appears to be pretty much complete, so things are nice and open as you walk through. You can walk up to Spaceship Earth, but there are walls now around the back of it and to the sides so that you have to go around towards either The Seas or Mission Space (and up the side of the under construction Guardians ride, formerly Ellen's Energy Adventure) to get anywhere. The entire core of future world (so from was was Innoventions East and Innoventions West and everything in between, including where the big fountain used to be) is now walled off for construction. All that said, it's really not that bad. All of the attractions are still accessible, you just have to walk around a larger perimeter to get where you want to go. When I was there end of March there was no construction in World Showcase other than perhaps finishing touches on the Ratatouille ride, which is tucked back in a corner. For pictures I would recommend googling for Epcot construction updates 2021. There are a few sites than can provide pics, updates, and some birds eye views of the entire project to give you an idea of what you are dealing with. If you like spending time in the World Showcase, the construction will have little impact on your visit.

It’s not as bad as it was. We noticed a couple construction walls have recently been removed. The construction walls also hold some cute photo ops.

Over the last few months the signage has increased. So the pathways aren’t as confusing as they were.

youtube "epcot construction update" and you can see a walkthrough video probably within the last week of what Epcot looks like,

The current EPCOT is not close to the old EPCOT. While I love the new entry, future world has so much construction that it is difficult to walk through.
It seemed that about half of World Showcase was closed.
really missed the CM from the countries.
Still enjoyed it and spent 2 out of 7 days there and loved it.
But, its not any where near what it was.
However, once the construction is done and the new attractions/restaurants are opened, it should be as good or better than before.

I think the best way to get a feel for what Epcot is currently like is to watch a live stream from there. It won’t be edited and you will have a broader picture. You can watch a replay of a live stream. If you look at the Dis channel, Craig probably has a fairly recent one. ResortTV1 does excellent live streams. They were just there on Cinco de Mayo.

We went last week and the construction did not have a big impact on our trip, at all. And it had zero impact on World Showcase. You will have a great time, don’t let a little progress deter you from a park you love.

For me, the construction was a slight annoyance and nothing more. Yeah I miss walking straight through the breezeway between the Land and Test Track and navigating around the construction walls can be a pain in the neck, but I don’t really feel it detracted from my experience. As previous posters have said, unless you are going to Spaceship Earth or entering/exiting the park, it’s not that impactful on your day. Your DISBoards handle is epcotobsessed, you should go to Epcot as much as possible, especially if you prefer to spend more time in WS.

Don't fret.... it's just construction walls. Go and enjoy. The people saying it's a "mess" haven't seen my house! :rotfl2:

I honestly never really minded the construction walls. They basically form a loop and there's lots of signage so you are not likely to get lost.

I really don't like the "stargate" barges in the lagoon through. I miss my gorgeous world showcase views! Hopefully they will turn on the fountains soon so that it is not such an eyesore.

France is not entirely open. The newly constructed areas are not yet open to the public and won't be open until October 2021 as best as I understand. Italy and Morocco recently had additions or renovations made to those areas and that construction is completed. It won't affect foot traffic necessarily, but Harmonious is still being worked on and I'm trying to be as respectful as I possibly can, but the Harmonious barges do not work for me.

Thanks for all the replies. I think we'll stick with our planned three days there because we love it so much. I'm assuming it's pretty much impossible to switch your park reservation last-minute, so I feel ok committing to this.

As already mentioned, the very front of Epcot (i.e. before Spaceship Earth) is nearly complete now.
