Epcot Pearls...? Anyone?

We did this last year and again on our trip last week. Last year we picked a pearl at TL and this year it was BB. The one last year my DS picked for me was very bright white and was a little less than 8mm. My DD who was 3 at the time picked one and it was smaller, approx 6mm with a bit of pink to it. We had them both set in a very simple way so we could wear them on a chain.

This year I had them each pick an oyster and told them whatever was inside I'd have made into earrings. I didn't care if they looked nothing alike, my children are totally different therefore it was fine by me if each earring looked different. My DD4 picked hers and it was over 8mm and gorgeous. My DS8 picked the next one and it was a little over 7mm and also beautiful. I can't wait to have an opportunity to wear my different size pearl earrings. I'm sure people will comment on them and then I can explain how they came to be!

I just got back from Disney World last week. My niece and I caught sight of the pick-an-oyster counter in Japan and we just *had* to try it.

And the oyster I picked had twin pearls inside! And they are both exactly the same color and size, so I had them set as earrings, and I love them.

How much exactly did the earrings cost on the rare occasion of opening a twin pearl oyster?

We did the same a few years ago. Our son picked an oyster at Japan and got double ~7mm pearls. I had them mounted and my wife wears them all the time. It's one of the best keepsakes of one of our trips.
