We have two kids ages 10 and 13. Need to decide between Epcot or HS for one full day (not hopping). My kids are not super into fast, scary rides.

Thoughts?

Review the various Disney and Disney-friendly websites for what each park offers in the way of rides, shows, and attractions. Then ask your kids. ;)

That's tough, my kids have always loved both at all the ages we were at WDW. For us AK is the park that gets skipped or atleast gets the least amount of time. We always have park hoppers so we can hit all the parks even if it is half a day.

There are good attractions and atmosphere at both Epcot and HS for kids that age. I would show them online some of the attractions and restaurants and see what they think if I didn't have a park hopper.

HS...Rocknrollercoaster and Tower of Terror simply trump anything Epcot has. Also, HS has a more teen/tween agenda than Epcot. Epcot is one of my favorites, but I'm "old." and I like to drink - both things Epcot excels at serving.

Wow that is a tough question. I would have to answer to read all the attractions in each park and decide if they would enjoy it or not and then the park with the most likes is the winner. DD always enjoyed the countries and doing the Kidspots with the passports and then walking our way around out way around the world.

I read Epcot is doing an activity with Perry similar to the Kim possible activities from a few years ago. If your kids are even a little nerdy (mine are total geeks for this) then they will love it. We had a communicator and were required to go all over each area/country to complete each mission. I kind of liked it too.

Def Hollywood studios. My 10 year old girl loves it there.
Loves tower of terror and tsm but also loves all the shows like one mans dream, star tours etc. Also nothing better then ending your day with fantasmic. Awesome.

Epcot is great but after soarin and test track. Not much thrill left. My girls are 10, 6, 1. So they loved turtle talk and nemo and seeing the characters around the world. Epcot def isn't a full day park for my family where Hollywood is.
Epcot would be full day park for me and my wife alone but not with the girls

If they don't like fast/scary rides then Tower of Terror and Rock N Rollercoaster are probably out. Which makes DHS far less appealing.

If those rides are out, unless your kids are huge Star Wars or Toy Story fans, I would think that Epcot is the better option. Even the "thrill" rides there (Test Track and Soarin') are tolerable to most people and they are at an age where they can really appreciate the countries in World Showcase.

Illuminations vs Fantasmic! is a wash. I prefer F! but wouldn't base a park decision on the night time show.

I agree 100% Epcot has the great Agent P mission to make Epcot more accessible to kids and it doesn't hurt to have yummy food and drinks to go along with it

I'm an idiot - I read that your kids ARE into superfast coasters when I first posted.

hmmm....I'd still go with HS because of the angle/agenda that HS offers (Star Tours, American idol, Indiana, etc) depending on the time of year you plan on going. Or simply ignore everything I said on this post because you are all dumber now reading anything I've written here.

I would concur with doctornick. If your children are not into thrill rides I would opt for Epcot. There's plenty to do there.

My kids are a little younger, but their favorite park is Hollywood Studios. We love Epcot and try to get there three times in a week, but HS is usually a bigger hit with my boys :).
