Boy, to me it seems these bands aen't at all what I'd hoped or expected. I thought the Eat to the Beat line-up was supposed to be pretty much like the Flower Power bands, bands of the 60s and 70s. Did I misunderstand? Because I've never heard of most of these, and I'm definitely a child of that generation. Also, FWIW, I went to the website of the Gin Blossoms, because according to the above schedule, they're who'll be there when I am and according to their tour schedule, they're supposed to be at Eat to the Beat on October 27 & 28. That's good because after looking at their website I still don't know what they've sung! Bring back Sister Sledge!

Not quite the same as flower power. Most of the bands are from the last 20 yrs.
I really like these but most of these are from my generation.
Loved Taylor Dane when I was in my early 20's. Found out she was hanging out by the pool one night at the Beach Club ....and we were staying there. So bummed we missed her.

Gin Blossoms were popular in the early-mid 90s, the song everyone knew was "Hey Jealousy".

I'm looking forward to seeing how the last week fills in. We're debating post-Thanksgiving vs end-of-term in early Nov and our dates have us just missing the band I'd most like to see - Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. I'm hoping for someone good sometime between 11/4 and 11/10.

A lot of them seem to be from the 80's and 90's. The Gin Blossoms were actually pretty darn big in the 90's and I would think your would at least recognize their song "Hey Jealousy" as that was all over the radio in the mid-90's and still is heard occasionally

I am happy with Boys II Men, but have to admit I had no clue about Howard Jones and even after googleing him still have no memory of him. Have my fingers crossed someone good Oct 20-21 be nice if they would get Rick Springfield again this year.

Cool. Howard Jones will be there while I'm there for my 40th. Perfect timing. He was one of the first big "alternative" acts in the early 80s.

OMG I am so excited, Boyz II Men!!

All these years of going to F&W our trip was always planned when Boyz II Men were not playing, they were either before or after our trip

FINALLY! Our trip is right in the middle and I can see them! This was one of my favorite groups of the early 90's! Now I have to see if my dining reservations are going to interfere with the concert.

Anyone rememeber the times? I think it is 5:15, 6:30 and 7:45?

Ooh and Howard Jones? YAY! I love that song "No One Is To Blame"

Those times sound right if I recall from last year. I am trying to decide if I want to shift our dinner time so we can take in Sugar Ray their last night is our arrival day.

I think we are arriving on the last day (11/13), any suggestions for what to see/do? (2 people of adult age and 2 pre-teens)

I'd say get the F&W booklet and eat your way around the world!

One day start at Mexico and work clockwise eating and drinking and other day start a Cannada and work counterclockwise eating and drinking.

We (six adults, two will be F&W first timers) are also arriving on the last day as we did last year.

Some of the lines were long because we got to EPCOT at the height of lunch hour, but we had no problem sampling everything we wanted because I printed out all the booths and we had checked the "must haves" beforehand.

We'll be attending the Food and Wine Festival for the first time this year. We were heading down to the MNSSHP on Oct 28 and then found out this festival is going on at the same time. Sweet!

Since we're only going to have one day for EPCOT- and have two kids (6&7) along - we're going to be have to pretty selective of what we want to hit.

Any suggestions of favorite dishes?

Also, any suggestions on where to find the bubbly? In the evening, we're going to use the Neverland Club and be celebrating my 40th in EPCOT. Seems a fitting beverage :)

sherekhan -- take a look at the menus beforehand to decide what you and your kids might want to eat. Lines can be very long on the weekends, so try to go during the week around 11am when World Showcase first opens. :-)

One year they had a champagne booth - This thread is one to watch because such helpful DIS'ers "take one for the team" and bring back pictures and menus of the booths! The year I went someone made "cards" we could print - so I had the whole day planned (and that year the Presecco was a fabulous bargain price! Preseco is an Italian champagne!!) The menus or booths do change - but Canada does have their cheese soup and salmon, some booths do stay the same!

Anytime you want a great celebration champagne - head over to Italy - and take a taste of the Rosa Regale - its red, it smells like strawberries - so refreshing, so delicious! (I buy it here at the local liquor store for $20 a bottle! a taste of Epcot when I cant get there!)
