Last week in EPCOT I enjoyed a Grand Marnier Orange Slush in France and came home determined to try and make my own so my research began. I found this recipe (copied and posted below) right here on a board posting from a couple of years back and it is the correct recipe and ingredients list. I found the website for Florida Natural Flavors and called them. A very nice woman answered the phone and told her that I had enjoyed a frozen cocktail while vacation and was told that I could get the drink mix from their company... she asked me if I had been to EPCOT! I started laughing. She said they are indeed the supplier for Disney and told me which products they sell for the two slushes served in France. I think at one time they did not sell to the public, but now do, by the case for around 50$ and you get 6 bottles per case and can mix and match whatever flavors you want.

That said, The real reason I am righting this post is because, before I ordered from Natural Flavors I decided to use a product I could find close to home and Oh Boy DID I STRIKE GOLD, or should I say Orange! I have a Ninja Blender- because my two little girls love snow cones and the blender turns ice into snow beautifully. Well, making snowcones requires flavored syrups and I just happen the have some orange syrup in my pantry (along with 12 other flavors, kids!) I bought the syrups I have at both Walmart and Target and this time of year they are really stocked well at my local Walmart. I put about 1/4 cup of orange syrup in my blender, threw in ice and started to blend, I added a bit more syrup and ice until I got the consistency that I wanted and it tasted amazing, I then poured in some Grand Marnier and pulsed a few more second to mix it in and Volia! I had the perfect copy of the drink from France!!! IT WAS EVEN THE EXACT SAME COLOR OF ORANGE!

I will make another this evening and post a photo- both of the drink and bottle of syrup I am using. I am also going to try and make the Lemon slush using Frozen lemonade concentrate, but also find some lemon snowcone syrup as well.

Grey Goose Citron Vodka Slushie
Drink Kiosk by France, Epcot

3 cups Grey Goose Citron Vodka
1 cup *Polynesian Pleasure Lemon Frozen Drink Mix
from Florida Natural Flavours in Casselberry, FLA
Ice if making in a blender or water according to
manufacturer’s instructions for slush machine.

Mix Vodka and Polynesian Pleasure Lemon. It helps
to chill the mix before putting in a slushie machine.
Add the required amount of water for your machine
(generally for 1 liter alcohol you use 1 ¾ gallon or
28 cups water.)
If making in a blender use enough ice to produce the slushie effect.
* can try substituting frozen Minute Maid lemonade

Thank you for this recipe! I always have a family party to celebrate 50 days til our next Disney trip and this willbe the perfect cocktail for our next party! And just to be sure, I'll test it our next weekend.....:drinking1

Here are are a couple of photos, my orange slush and the bottle of syrup I used. Monin and Torani also make orange syrups that I might try as well, but this orange snow cone syrup from Walmart was amazing to make this slush.

I'm going to order some of this Natural Flavors stuff. The lady I spoke with this morning is checking on shipping rates for me. I don't anticipate needing a whole case, but as expensive as these drinks are in the park, by the time I make 6 or 7 of them, they've paid for themselves. The product has a fairly long shelf life, too, so I'm sure I'll use enough of it to make it worth the money.

I would love to hear what you think of the natural flavors products. I agree that the price is worth it and since the bottles are shelf stable and only require refrigeration once opened ordering a case it not a such a big issue.

We love Grand Marnier and this sounds wonderful. We are heading to the world this September, so we will certainly be heading on over to France for a nice drink.

Hope to be able to get a ticket for the Food and Wine's Grand Marnier seminar. ;)

Me and the DW have been waiting 5 years to drink our next one. Next week her we come!!!

DH accidentally spilled mine on the last trip, at least half of it. He promised me we could go back to Disney this year and he'd buy me one every day (hence our need to stay right out the back door to France this trip...holding him to it!)

I'm wondering if the snow cone orange flavor tastes great and can be bought locally and for less money, why are you bothering to order the Florida natural syrup stuff?

Going to do this with Ketel Orange or Ciroc. Actually, I think Ciroc is a natural choice as it's a more natively French vodka. Grey Goose was developed by an American "For American Customers".

I'm actually not really a fan of Vodka at all but if I'm going to mix with it it might as well be the best.
