***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

DDE dosen't send things out anymore :sad2: . Thats what I was told when I called last month. Because you can get the info from DTD guest relations. I did get my Mickey Monitor in the mail last week.

I was told by DDE about two weeks ago they will be sending advance brochure this year, guess it depends on who you talk to.

I don't know who that is, is it a good thing? I'll be at my very first PFTS on 10/4 and loves me some chocolate!

There is usually an entire display of chocolate nibblies at every PFTS and I don't mean chocolate out-of-a-box nibblies. These are chef (& crew) prepared Confections. We went to 2 last year - food and wine being served are usually different depending on the participating chefs.

Enjoy your very first PFTS!

late to the discussion, but we received our DDE mailing last year about one week after they started taking reservations. As someone else already said, it was a nice keepsake but it wasn't exactly helpful in our planning.

Okay, good! I want to spend two days playing at Food and Wine, so this is what I wanted to hear! Thanks! :goodvibes

Oh, absolutely, especially if you book a special event; and even if you don't.

We go approximately 20 days worth (granted, with some of those being after work), and we still never feel like we've done everything we want to do.

And those chocolates, at the PftS - I always tell people to go for them early! Every PftS we've been to, they run out early on.

If I remember last year, there was a table of chocolate nibbles but they also had a table of truffles!!! Many unique tastes. Like sea salt truffles and chili truffles.

Yes, some of those little treasures somehow got wrapped in a napkin and were found in my souvenir wine glass for later enjoyment! ;)

I started the party with chocolate!:lmao: :rotfl: Then went to the wine!

that sounds like a fine strategy that we may use this year ... don't want to miss the chocolate two years in a row! :scared1:

gotta get to work ... since I'm blocked at the office you all have a lovely day and could you please do something about getting those additional F&W details released so that I can enjoy reading through them when I get home? ;) :lmao:

DH and I are thinking of heading down to Food and Wine for a long weekend in October. Is there enough to do to fill two whole days at Epcot (F and W stuff) or should I just plan one day there and a day at another park? Thanks!

Definately enough things to do to fill two full days. Grab the schedule and do as much or a little as you like!

We have our set "schedule" that we always follow, and is always a winner!

Champagne, a toast, and a kiss
Sam Adams Utopia if they have it
Back of the room! (while EVERYONE else crowds the front)
Work your way to desserts, halfway through
Front of the room for more savory things.
What did we miss? What did we want to re-do?
Fill'er up with beer for the walk out!

Not being a dessert fan, esp. will all the cheese, I do not have my hands on your chocolate.....but a tip. Eat dessert first...or at least take the desserts you like back to your table as some do disappear before you can make it that far...

So you're the reason we couldn't get our hands on any chocolate! ;)

No, honest ... she had a blue robe on, a wand in her hand and she was singing bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!:wizard:

Or maybe it was the woman who kept emptying my wine glass :flower3:

Back to DDE discounts. Okay, so not for events and not for booths but what about at the regular places that take it all year long at Epcot? So, if I get a margarita at the margarita stand that's there all year round, does my card work there?

The regular places still take the discount during F&W, just not at the F&W booths or special events.

To my knowledge, the DDE card is never good at the margarita stand. In Mexico, it's only good at the San Angel Inn. So, you would have to go inside, sit down and order a margarita to get the 20% off.

You never get a DDE discount at any of the stands - only participating restaurants and all lounges at disney hotels.
