Hello all
just purchased our first into to DVC
50 points (to start hopefully)
Questions:
1) We want to stay at the Beach Club or the Boardwalk, can anyone recommend specific rooms (studios) with views of Epcot, fireworks etc.,

2) Does anyone know of an online map of the various resorts with a key to room numbers etc.,(like the ones you get when checking into the reg. resorts?)

Thanks
looking forward to our first DVC vacation this October

Welcome to DIS and welcome Home! The Boardwalk View have the best view of EPCOT and the fireworks although you'll see only the "aerial" shells. One thing about Boardwalk View is that you'll hear the noise from the Boardwalk until late at night. If you have kids, particularly young ones, it can be a problem. I don't know of an online map showing rooms but the standard view rooms usually face the parking lot or front of the complex. Pool view rooms are nice also - great views of the Keister Coaster and the canal to MGM.

Enjoy!

Can't answer #2 but as for #1, if you're shooting for THIS October, and planning on going after Food & Wine Fest starts (Oct. 18), you might not be able to be TOO fussy about which room. If it's like last year, you may have some trouble getting any room in the Epcot area. That Fest causes a pretty quick sellout. Next year you'll have your 11 month window and can be more particular!

I beg to differ - you can get a view of Spaceship Earth from the BCV - not BWV - I have room 561 and I loved it - you get the view of the Spaceship Earth 24 hours!!! You could see the higher fireworks and heard the music from this room. However it did also look out on the road - but I didn't care.

Disney did away with the room number keys to guests - because they say - it was helping thiefs - to my knowledge they haven't printed one since BC/YC or PO I forget which is the newest of these. Although the rc and Cm at the front desk have access one - guest don't.

Doc did a room assignment when he visited.

Stay at the Beach Club Villas (though you won't get much for 50 points .... is that a typo?). It's the MOST relaxing place, with the best pool (Storm Along Bay) and the best ice cream parlor (Beaches and Cream) and one of the best non-character buffets (Cape May Cafe). We own at Old Key West, but always stay at either the Wilderness Lodge Villas or Beach Club Villas.

I've been told by different CM's that for security reasons, Disney does not provide any maps showing actual room locations.

We also stayed in Room 561 at the BCV. Great view of the fireworks. We could even see some of the torches around the lagoon so we knew when the torches went off, the fireworks were about to begin. Also could see(but not hear) the fountain in FW.

Room #561 sounds great! What size is it? Hoping it's a studio, since that's the size I have reserved for December.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their advice and assistance

1) was also wondering about #561 I can't seem to find a review for this number in the room reviews. Is is a studio?

2) Does anyone know how many floors there are in BCV?

Again Everyone thanks
looking forward to coming Home and a great vacation...

Cannot remember the room number, but we had a one bedroom, top floor above the Atlantic louge, it overlooks the Yachtclub and lake (very pretty). We had a splendid aerial view of the fireworks (while my son and I were in our Pjs, he had a milk and I had wine). He was 4 at the time and we thought the noise would be loud. It wasn't. Also, lots of lights on and around the lake and Boardwalk, but once we pulled the blinds and drapes, we heard and saw nothing. It was fabulous.

I would not worry! Enjoy. ;)

BCV #561 is a studio with # 559 the connecting one bdrm next door. I am hoping for a room close to here again when we go Dec 6-12. Good Luck !
