hi. what time should we get in line (with dining packg) for 8:15 show for after Christmas (popular narrator)? Also, DD needs to sit somewhat close to see, what is the best area? Does everyone need to be in line, or can we (parents) wait in line and 2 teens join the line later?

1. Entering the Dining Pkg. waiting line an hour or more before show time can get a better
choice of seats.
At 45 min. before show time, the line can be very long.

2. I'd say rows 1-6 toward center would be preferred.

I agree. We were eating our dinner at Rose & Crown and I heard the waitress tell someone they should get in line about 1/2 hr. before! I knew that didn't sound right. We went 1 hr. before the 8:15 show and there was quite a line forming then!

why does everyone with a dining package start lining up so early? I get being there like a half hour or maybe even 40ish minutes before your time, but an hour or more seems like overkill to me

We got in line for the 8:15 show at 6:15 for NPH on 12/2. The line was all the way back to Morocco by 6:30. We got seats in the 6th row.

If I did it again, I'd show up 30-45 minutes in advance and be fine with whatever seat I got, but this was my first time and I wanted a good seat - and obviously NPH is quite popular.

Is the advice the same for a less crowded time (12/16 - America Ferrera narrating)? It seems a little nuts to pay for the package and still have to spend an hour or more in line!

You don't have to spend an hour in line. As long as you are in the package area by the time listed on the paper (there should be show no later than xyz time) they you will get a seat. I don't think there are any truly bad seats in the American Gardans Theater and have had an enjoyable time in the last row before.

I saw Whoopi Goldberg on Saturday night at 8:15, the line was in front of Japan an hour before. They didn't police the line for people coming and going. I ended up in the second section, 3rd row, center. They let us in about 15 min before.
