... and before you say it ... I can't get an ADR for Le Cellier ...

so, everywhere else is available ..

there will just be the two of us, it's my birthday, my partner is vegetarian and I'd love her to have a decent choice of food, we both love chinese/japanese/mexican. My only experience of TS at Epcot is Biergarten which I loved but it isn't what I'm looking for.

We're staying just one night at the Boardwalk and Epcot is my favourite park and H hasn't seen illuminations hence the location choice!

Suggestions please???

We didn't enjoy Le Cellier as much this year service was better but food wasn't as good, last year was our favourite.

Changed menu in Tutto Italia, again not as good this year.

Coral Reef I found too busy & noisy.

We were not over thrilled with Biergarten but as you say not sort of place you are looking for.

Teppan Edo we went twice this year it was so good but again maybe not what you want.

I would say of the places we have eaten at San Angel Inn would suit best but not everyone likes it, we did.

Not eaten here yet but I would possibly go for Chefs de France, its on out list for next year.

I love Nine Dragons and Tepan Edo. Both are really great quality restaurants, completely different, but it depends what you're looking for. I'd definately recommend the sweet and sour pork at Nine Dragons though. Delicious. How about the new Mexican restaurant? Or maybe Via Napoli? :goodvibes

The pizza was really good at Via Napoli last week, but its not a very romantic location if that's what you're after - huge and loud restaurant! I would probably walk over to the Yachtsman Steakhouse for a nice meal - we had the most delicious food there last week and I can't wait to go back already!

I agree, never thought about the resorts when you said Epcot. Only 10 mins walk to Yachtsman and its better than anywhere in Epcot. It was our fave meal this year. Service, setting and food all very good.

I'll second that. Via Napoli was SO close to authentic Italian pizza it was unbelievable. We loved that place so much.

We ate at the Yachtsman for the very first time this trip, didn't rate it at all. Very bright and loud and the steak wasn't up to our standard. We love Shula's in the Dolphin which is very much the opposite but horses for courses.

thanks for the suggestions folks;

not particularly looking for romantic but hoping to feel 'special' given it is my actual birthday if that makes sense?

the thing that puts me off the Yachtsman is the lack of veggie options, if the menu on allears is to be believed its gnocchi or gnocchi which H doesn't like much.

I'd read so many iffy reviews about the mexican restaurants and Nine Dragons that I've been put off them slightly.

I think it may be a toss up between Via Napoli and Tepan Eddo, thank you all again for your suggestions :)

i would avoid chef de france. we had an awful meal in aug, and the reviews on the rest boards back me up (i appreciate e veryone has diff experiences i just wanted to share mine)
we also were not impressed by lec, and had better meals at the cs in epcot, we had a lovely ts in norway and in mexico....

I'm veggie, and I loved Kouzzina on the Boardwalk, only a short walk up to the "back" gate of Epcot from there...
There wasn't a lot of veggie choice on the menu, but I really did enjoy what I had.

I love the Tangierine Cafe (sp?) in Morocco, but haven't tried a TS meal in there to comment.

TBH most TS restaurants throughout the WDW site only have one veggie option on the menus, two at most. But if you give them a wee bit of notice, and they know it's a special occasion, then the chefs may make the veggie something special.

ooh I'll have a look at there too ... thanks. H is resigned to the fact her choices are limited, but obviously there are some foods she'd prefer not to eat (gnocchi being one of them!!). At least there is a veggie choice - she's not got over Disneyland Paris assuming fish was a vegetarian option!! We lived on pizza for five days there!! (or rather she did!)

Bistro de Paris is really good, we ate there a few days ago. There were certainly some vegetarian options. Service was impeccable and food delicious.

If your partner is a fish eating Vegetarian then Flying Fish is also a great place (on the Boardwalk).

I haven't eaten at Nine dragons this trip but I intend to. I find it has been very under-rated especially since they did it up in the last year or so. I have enjoyed all the meals there over the last 5 years - it did have a bad patch but that was probably a decade ago!

Happy to help with any veggie related questions! :thumbsup2

Nine Dragons was nice too - also ate there in April. However the only veggie choice was a bit bland compared to the carnivore choices...

Best veggie meal of my holiday was Boma with Tusker House coming a close second (both African themed buffets)

I'm a vegetarian and I agree that Kouzzina would be a good choice. I ate there last year and really enjoyed my entrée, although it was a bit on the small side! Teppan Edo might be an idea too- I haven't eaten there but I plan to next year. :)

If you want to feel special try a signature restaurant you have both yachtsman and flying fish both close to Epcot.

We have had a good meal at yachtsman but not tried flying fish. The signature restaurants change their menus quite frequently and the chef will probably work with you to find something to your tastes :goodvibes

We really enjoyed tuttu italia :)

Can I just ask where is the 'back gate ' at Epcot ? Is this a different exit we missed :confused3

Its called the International Gateway, inbetween France and UK on the UK side of the water, go down the ramp and there is a giftshop and turnstiles. From here you can walk or take a boat to Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach club and Swan & Dolphin resorts

Nine Dragons is our faveourite restaurant in Orlando. We wen their twice last timeand between us tried a lot of the menu. Everything that we had was excellent. The service was also first class.
