Hi there~ Quick question.....Islands of Adventure opens at 8 am on the day we are going. We are staying at the Royal Pacific, so we get early admission, right? so that would be 7 am??? just checking....seems early.... but the early bird gets the Wizard!! right??? or isn't that opened early. So sorry... this is only our 2nd trip to Universal... I can do Disney and their early opening... extra hours.... but am stumbling with Universal. Thanks for any info you can share.. : )

That is correct. At about quarter to 7 they will let you through the gates, so you want to make sure you are there before then.

If the official hours say 8, then yes, you'll be able to get in at 7. Maybe even a few minutes earlier--Universal has been known to open 10-15 minutes earlier than that on occasion. YMMV.

Great question! We will be at IOA next weekend and also staying on property, and I was wondering the same thing.

Do we really need to get there at 7 to beat the crowds, or will it still be managable at 8?

If you want to do Ollivander's, then I recommend going as early as possible. Waits for it at 8 will probably already be longer than it is worth, IMO. (It's cute, but I personally wouldn't wait more than 30-45 minutes for it.)

The early entry privilege for staying on site really should be taken advantage of. It is the key to enjoying WWoHP with the least amount of crowds.

YES...

beat the crowds, be there at 6:45 in line.

at 8, you will see some lines for fj/show at olivander's

Thanks for setting me straight! Talked to DH and all three teens in our family and they are all willing to get up early so we'll be there when the gates open!:cool1:
