Entrance to Grand Californian for reservations?

I’ve seen the question come up in the forum but I couldn’t find a direct answer. I’m staying at the Disneyland Hotel in September but I’m interested in booking an appointment at the Mandara Spa and possibly making dining reservations at Napa Rose. Now that the front entrance to the Grand Californian is gated and closed to non-GC guests, how should I enter the hotel? Do I enter through the Grand Californian entrance in Downtown Disney? Or, alternatively, through the GC entrance in California Adventure if I happen to be in that park at the time? I just want to make sure I’m doing it correctly. Thanks!

You can do either. You can also enter through the front since you do have a reservation.

Thank you! I thought I read that GC guests would need to swipe or scan their hotel cards to get through the gate, but I would gladly give my reservation numbers to anyone from security. This is a great relief!

I've gone through the front gates several times when I've had a reservation at Napa Rose or Storyteller Cafe. Sometimes they check the reservation, and sometimes they don't. I've never had a problem (so far).

That is the way it seems to be working now. Waiting to hear from some folks who have tried it. If you have a reservation, that is

There is no actual gate. A security CM is stationed on the sidewalk near the vehicle entrance on Disneyland Drive, and checks for GCH room keys or a dining reservation.

I think there is an actual gate now. Someone posted pictures on another post.

From DLH entering the GCH from DTD will be the most direct route and that entrance is unrestricted both ways and open to all
