Wow! These 'entertainment rates' seem too good to be true. I am a bit confused as to how you get this though. It is my understanding that if you have an entertainment book, even a local one, that you can get these rates. Is that correct? And when you call do you simply ask for the entertainment rate? If someone can help clear this up for me I would greatly appreciate it.

Right, call the hotel and ask for the ent. rate with your dates....... they are the BEST rates, better than AP, Fanclub....... etc. You can get any Ent. book, any area, all you need is to show the card that comes in the book when you check in. The books are 10.00 right now, for 2003....... 2004 books as far as I know are not out yet, but will be around 35.00, you can get the books from the ent. website, somewhere on here the site is listed, I'll try to find it and post it for you. :smooth:

go to the ent. website, listed below, and buy the book for your area, or any area...... I know that the orlando books are sold out. Once you get to the check-out, the price will show up as $10.00, $5.00 for shipping= $15.00, this is WELL worth it for the discounts on the rooms. Good Luck.

Geez, if I could get it all in one post.......... I'd be doing good!!! If you are not a loews first member, go register, it's free and you get some pretty good perks with it. I think that's all I need to tell you!!;)

Are Disney Club Members also Entertainment Club? The back of my card says "entertainment', .. do I still need sometype of coupon?

The entertainment books are frequent fundraisers for local schools and charities. I complained about "having" to buy one last year for $25.00 but have saved much much more (lets see 3 nights at PGH X $150...) Now I can't wait for the new ones to come out when school starts. In addition to the hotel discounts we have enjoyed trying out local restaurants with the buy one get one free deals and we have used a number of the fast food coupons, Subway, Popeye's etc. I have learned to keep mine in the car, that way if we are out we have the coupons with us. There are coupoms for some things, and other discounts (like the buy one get one free) where you have to have your car. When we checked in at PBH they took my card and went to "verify" that it was valid. The current cards expire Nov. 1, so be sure your card is valid for the dates when you are checking in, not when you make the reservation.

We have a tripped to PBH booked for Nov 8-11 at the entertainment rate and I am confused with how to get the book. When I went on the web site it said that it would expire Nov 1, 2003. Does this mean I have to wait for the new book to come out for 2004? I don't want to get to Orlando and have an expired card and not be honored the ent rate. Thanks!!

I looked on mousesavers, and I think you would have to wait for the 2004 book to come out (I'm in the same boat, goind 12/1-4)

However, do I have to wait until I have the book in order to book the hotel? FOr example, can I call, get the rate and then purchace the book before we leave so I'll have a card when we check in, or do I need to buy the book and then call to make the reservation?

bekkiz,

You can reserve the rate before you get the book. You just need the card from the book for check-in.

Any dates of travel after Nov 1 2003 will require the 2004 book's card.

The Disney Club card with the entertainment club on the back is NOT good at the Orlando Hotels. YOu need the "Entertainment Book" and the card that comes in the front of it . If you call and get the entertainment rate, just bring the card with you.

You do have to have the current entertainment card. They took mine to "check" that it was valid. While the old books expire Nov 1, the new books are available in August. I already got my notice from my son's school. I don't know when they are available online but there is an overlap.

woo hoo, I called and got the entertainment rate of 110 plus tax at RPR. I'll just have to keep my eye out and buy the 2004 book when I see it. Thanks everyone for your help!
