Okay, so I know there's a thread for this but my question/issue seems a little more personal so I thought I'd put it here.
So, I'm from St. Louis and go to a school two hours away from home. Since I was first interested in doing the CP I have told myself that I would audition to be a character performer this year if they had their auditions in St. Louis. Over the last couple years I've looked and didn't see any auditions in St. Louis and today, wandering the CP website, I click the wrong link and the list pops up and what do I know, there's an audition in St. Louis this year and not only is it at home, it's during spring break when I will be at home. I have even mapquested the location and it's not even a half hour from my house.
So, now I have to decide if I really want to/ if I am even allowed to audition. I would love to be a character performer but auditions do freak me out a little bit (which is why I told myself only in St. Louis. Didn't want to drive six hours to Chicago only to bomb the audition). I put it down on my role checklist but didn't mention it as a top choice and was therefore asked no questions about it. A few weeks ago I was accepted into attractions
and am very happy with my role.
Will there be a problem if I do audition. Like, I know I am guaranteed my spot in attractions even if I don't make it... right? Also, will there be a problem with me going to the audition without being asked questions about the role or not putting it as a top choice? And is there anything I would have to do before showing up at the audition and is it too late to do that (Audition date March 16)?
Well, thanks for reading this (I tend to be a little long winded...) and I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the situation. Though I would love to be a performer it wouldn't be the end of the world if I was in attractions. In fact, I'd still be happy as a clam about the whole thing but I feel that the audition on my home town while I'm on spring break may just be some sort of sign I shouldn't ignore.
