Okay, so I know there's a thread for this but my question/issue seems a little more personal so I thought I'd put it here.

So, I'm from St. Louis and go to a school two hours away from home. Since I was first interested in doing the CP I have told myself that I would audition to be a character performer this year if they had their auditions in St. Louis. Over the last couple years I've looked and didn't see any auditions in St. Louis and today, wandering the CP website, I click the wrong link and the list pops up and what do I know, there's an audition in St. Louis this year and not only is it at home, it's during spring break when I will be at home. I have even mapquested the location and it's not even a half hour from my house.

So, now I have to decide if I really want to/ if I am even allowed to audition. I would love to be a character performer but auditions do freak me out a little bit (which is why I told myself only in St. Louis. Didn't want to drive six hours to Chicago only to bomb the audition). I put it down on my role checklist but didn't mention it as a top choice and was therefore asked no questions about it. A few weeks ago I was accepted into attractions :cloud9: and am very happy with my role.

Will there be a problem if I do audition. Like, I know I am guaranteed my spot in attractions even if I don't make it... right? Also, will there be a problem with me going to the audition without being asked questions about the role or not putting it as a top choice? And is there anything I would have to do before showing up at the audition and is it too late to do that (Audition date March 16)?

Well, thanks for reading this (I tend to be a little long winded...) and I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the situation. Though I would love to be a performer it wouldn't be the end of the world if I was in attractions. In fact, I'd still be happy as a clam about the whole thing but I feel that the audition on my home town while I'm on spring break may just be some sort of sign I shouldn't ignore.

Hi there. I'm in the same boat; just accepted into attractions but still planning to go to the character audition in Pittsburg. I asked during my phone interview and they said that if you aren't accepted for a character role, your attractions slot will still be open for sure, so there's one weight off your chest. :cutie:

And even if you do get offered a role, you can choose to decline and go right on Attraction-ing.

Hope this helps ease some fears!

Thank you very much! It does ease some worries, quite a bit actually. I just feel that since the audition is so close it would be a waste not to at least give it a try. You never know, right? Thanks again!

I'm not positive but I believe you can still audition even if they didn't ask you questions. It is an open audition and people for more than just the CP. They also don't ask you if you have been put on the list or anything. You just check a box on the application/info thing they make you fill out. SO! I believe you should be fine but if it makes you feel more comfortable I would call them. But I don't think you need to.

As isingalong mentioned, you keep your current role. If you pass they switch it and if you don't you will still be in the program as whatever you are. I am so glad they changed that rule. Its a lot less stressful knowing you have nothing to lose.

I would definitely say go to the audition. Its in your city, on spring break, and you have nothing to lose. Its a fun experience and you never know, maybe you will pass and get to be a performer. :) They are not scary, in fact they are probably the most laid back and fun audition you could possibly go to. People there are usually really nice and chatty so you can "make friends" so you don't feel like your doing it alone.
